Guilty about Baby#2

I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and I have a DD that will be 2 in April. I'm beginning to feel guilty about having another child and my DD not being my baby anymore. My DH says I'm being silly, and I think so too, but I feel horrible. Is anyone else feeling this way? Any advice??

This is only my first, so I can't relate to what you're feeling. But, wanted to share that my little sister is my best friend! We are 2 and a half years apart and I am so thankful that my parents chose not to stop after me, even if that meant that I didn't get to be the baby for too long. Once she came along, she was my baby

That's what I'm hoping. My sister and I are 6 years apart so I knew that I didn't want to wait that long. I'm 29 and she's 23 and we're just starting to get along now, and not even.

Lol it was rough in the teen years. "That's my shirt"! Once I went away to college we got a lot closer.

My first two are just over two years apart and with DD we gave DS something irreplaceable. They are wonderful playmates now and adore each other... Most of the time.

When you get home from the hospital you will be shocked by how grown up DD seems, but she will be growing up whether or not you have a baby.

I get what you're saying. My son is 8mths old and I feel bad that he is not going to get enough one-on-one time with mommy and daddy before the baby comes. I know I'm being ridiculous, but I feel bad.

I feel a twinge of guilt that soon my older child will have to share me with a baby. But I've seen him interact with his infant cousin and with other tiny babies we know, including one I babysit, and I think he'll be such a great big brother.

Edit to add: I'm two years older than my middle sister, and my earliest memory is of looking into the window of the hospital nursery to see her the day she was born. We're no longer really close, but growing up we were playmates.

Your DD will always be your baby, even when she's not THE baby. A sibling is a wonderful gift. It's also ok to have another child because you want it for yourself, not just for her to have a sibling.

I feel the same exact guilt. I love having a sibling and I know my son will love having a playmate, but I can't get over the fact that he won't be my one and only anymore.

You and DD will be fine. This makes baby #5 for me, 3 and 4 are only 18 months apart. They are best friends and it's been great for #3 to have a little buddy. Don't feel guilty at all!

right there with you! DD will be 2 in August. Hubby also thinks I'm silly. We were totally trying for this one but now that it's happening I want to cry every time I look at her!

OMG me too... And hubby thinks I'm crazy.. My daughter is 6 and I feel guilty that she has to share me soon. I know it's silly, but I still feel that way!!
