Same cravings, different sex?

I know cravings are not a scientific indication of whether or not you're having a boy or a girl. But I'm curious.... with my first I was obsessed with pickles (anything salty) and sour candy- then arrived my beautiful DS! I am having the exact same cravings this time around and I'm wondering if there's still hope for having a girl. I know that sounds silly (I mean really, I do) and I'll be pumped just to have a healthy baby. Anyone else crave different/same foods with different sex's? Just fun to compare.

Re: Same cravings, different sex?

  • Yes. WIth my son I craved fried foods - chicken nuggets, french fries....salty foods...I think mainly because I had MS with him too and it felt like a really bad hangover, which made my body thing that greasy food would help. This time I am craving the same junk (am sicker this time around - ugh). That being said, it is a girl! I had always heard you crave sweets with a girl - not me, in fact, this is the most untempted I have been with sweets probably in my life.

  • First pregnancy: Girl, tons of MS, sweet cravings.

This pregnancy: Girl, no MS, salty cravings.

So you're right, symptoms are absolutely not an indication of what you're having.

  • This is baby #6. My firstborn is a girl. I thought my second would be the opposite because everything was so different but I had another girl. Each pregnancy has been unique.

So no I wouldn't take cravings/aversions too serious. It's hard not to though! I still try to analyze them all lol.
