Urbini Travel System

Soon to be first time mom here. Due july 18.

I always knew that once I had a baby I would want a bassinet style stroller ... I did not know then that I would be looking at spending over $700 for one. The one I fell in love with was $1,400 and did not have car seat. While I can afford this.. I have begun to think more logically about money now (lol) and think it's probably not the best idea to spend this much on a stroller.

While doing more research I found the Urbini travel system which comes with bassinet style stroller and the car seat. The reviews I read are great. Do any of you have experience with one of these? Also, Walmart has this set for $200 (max) or if you just want the stroller I believe it's $100 something.

Another concern I have is that my husband drives a Prius and I drive a Nissan Titan (I like big cars lol). He wants us both to have a car seat but I don't know how I would go about getting one for this travel system. Also, I was reading that it would be a good idea to get a car seat for my truck for the next stage but I'm confused if this car seat would be of any use for my baby when it's born.

This is my first baby and since I'm an only child with hardly any family around and one of the first from our group of friends to get pregnant I'm really in the dark about all of this. What would you do or what are your plans?

Re: Urbini Travel System

  • I am a FTM as well and my husband and I bought the exact same travel system you are talking about. We read nothing but good reviews so we don't see anything going wrong with it. We got it because of the bassinet stroller as well and loved that it converts to toddler

My husband and I both have our own car but we are only sticking to one car seat and it'll be going in my car since it'll be the car used to take baby to most if not all appointments since my husband will most likely be working during those times so I don't know how to help you there...

  • Oh and as for getting the next stage car seat... You could do that if you wanted (I think, not too sure about standards here) but we plan to wait until baby actually reaches that stage. Otherwise for us, it would just be taking up space and I hate that lol.
  • I think instead of buying another carseat, I would just buy an extra base, so it's easier to move the carseat from vehicle to vehicle. That's what we did with out first.
I'm not sure about buying the next stage carseat. I didn't do that until it was needed. And I invested in a nice convertible one.
  • @k3taeko‌ I will also be the one taking baby to appointments since I have a more flexible schedule at work. And I totally understand.. My truck is pretty spacious but I have OCD or something because it literally makes me be in a bad mood if there's too many things in it lol.
  • @erinnlou‌ I did see that Walmart sells the base by itself. I guess we can just always have the car seat with the baby since my mom will be taking care of him/her at home and thus avoid the double car seat.

Thank you for clarifying the next stage car seat issue.
