Just for fun - Cravings

I tried a search to see if we had discussed this recently, but didn't find one in our month so I figured I'd ask so we could have some fun. What cravings have you had? Go ahead and share the ones you have given into and the ones we aren't "allowed" to have, or just cant get to for whatever reason (the world is a cruel place to pregnant women sometimes). I'll start


My indulgence cravings - Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. I keep eating it for breakfast. I also had a friend recently ship me up a King Cake from New Orleans so I could munch on that, poor DH only got the tiniest piece. And I ordered myself chocolate covered strawberries for valentines day. I ordered late so they wont arrive until Tuesday, but I don't care. At least I have a healthy craving to balance these out - fruits. Mangos, strawberries, grapes, cherry tomatoes. Or those cottage doubles with the cottage cheese and fruit stuff. Mmm. Now I'm thinking about cheese...


My unfulfilled cravings - a soft pretzel like from Auntie Anne's or some place like that. I live in a really small town and there is nothing like that for at least an hours drive. Chipotle. Same reason. A really good stout beer. Or the hop kick of an IPA.

  • French fries, always. Which, honestly, isn't really unique to my pregnancy, but since being pregnant, I want them all the time - from when I first wake up to when I go to bed. Cheesy fries are even better, and I was never super crazy about them before pregnancy.

  • Frozen chocolate chips, waffles, nacho lunch ables(had a bite of the kids and always want them now) ice cream, pizza, and spaghetti. I had no cravings with the last one so to have all these was unexpected!
  • Before I was pregnant, I had severe food intolerance (gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, among others). I was worried how I would get the nutrients to grow a healthy baby. Pregnancy had changed my immune system, allowing me to tolerate everything but eggs!!! Ahhh, I can finally eat like a normal person again! Doctor is supportive of eating what I want (within caloric range). Craving and eating pizza!!

    Milk (like I'll chug two glasses at dinner like I won't ever have milk again), pickles (cliched, yes), and peanut-butter based cereals like Reese's Puffs.

    I haven't craved alcohol really, but now that we've received over seven feet of snow in 23 days in Boston, yes I really would like a beer or mixed drink as I sit here, homebound and watching bad tv. Also, sushi.
  • Blueberry muffins! One every night!
  • I crave most anything but lately jello fruit cups. This pregnancy hasn't given me food aversions at all so since day 1 I have been eating most everything I normally ate.
    I miss seafood and sushi. I know you can have some seafood but the past month I want it like 2 to 3 times a week.
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Smores pop tarts. I usually wake up at 5am on the dot to go to the bathroom, so I've made it a ritual to grab a pop tart while I'm up.

    Spicy food - frozen fruit - spicy pickles (we have 4 open jars of pickles because the first three weren't spicy enough) - pretzel chips

    I'm trying to behave (And not eat too much) but it's not really working :/
  • Fruity Pebbles cereal, milk, and chocolate milk. Mmmm, and of course we just ran out of milk...

  • I gave in and had oriental Top Ramen scooped into my food hole with strawberry poptarts. I regret nothing.
  • Just all the food. ALL THE FOOD.

    Jokes aside, definitely fruit and fruit-flavored items.

  • Valentine's candy.... All I want is chocolate!
  • I've wanted a chocolate hand pie so bad I'm dreaming about them!! I finally decided to give while snow storm shopping (18 in. possible, ahhh) but they were out?! No milk, no bread, and no chocolate pies!
  • Taco Bell every chance I get. Literally. Hubby hates it now cause I want it all the time. Poptarts fruity pebbles cheese chocolate milk and any other kids food I can get my hands on. Haha. Oh and sushi with fried shrimp. Just yum.
  • Cravings I give into:
    - Gyro plates from The Mad Greek with lots of feta cheese and cucumber (normally I don't like really cheesy things)
    - Carne asada nachos or anything with beans really
    - Poptarts (cherry and unfrosted strawberry are my favorites)
    - Coffee...mmmm coffee

    Cravings I have yet to satisfy:
    - Grilled Salmon
    - Chocolates (just never seems to be around the house)
    - A nice, rare, juicy steak with a loaded baked potato! PLEAAAAAAASE!
  • Sugary cereal, cheeseburgers, anything fried, pizza and cookies. I have to have cookies and milk every single night before I go to bed. Too bad I don't crave fruit and veggies!
  • Hamburgers, steak, tacos. So basically beef, which I rarely ate before pregnancy. I'm also loving chicken tenders, fruit smoothies, and yougurt. Oh and also gummy candies. Pretty much I'm just loving food!

    I wish I craved more veggies. I are salads and green veggies constantly before and I'm worried I'm not getting enough of that stuff now. I don't have a ton of cravings this I haven't given into, but one I don't indulge in often is spicy potato chips and French fries.
  • No weird cravings for me yet but working in a grocery store can be bad for giving into cravings. Nacho lunchables have been great when I want nachos on break or yesterday all I wanted was cinnamon and bought Snyders cinnamon pretzels and omg they are like crack! But it's so hard I've been try to be good for my husband who is getting the gastric sleeve surgery next month but seriously all I ever want is carbs!

    And the one thing I really want but haven't had is a raspberry or mango margarita!
  • Frosted flakes, grilled chicken sandwiches and pre cut watermelon chunks from whole foods ( they just taste best from there). I'm still having a hard time eating because I just feel so full all the time.
  • It's funny how almost all of us are loving sugary cereal!
  • I'm finally getting cravings the last couple weeks! This pregnancy started with nothing sounding ever.

    Golden Grahams cereal for a snack almost daily, lots of fruit and salads, med-rare steak, and root beer floats. I really try to drink just water throughout the day (besides my morning coffee) so I don't feel so guilty about the nightly root beer floats.
  • I had my first serious craving last week, mocha coolata and a brownie batter donut from Dunkin Donuts. I drove 20 minutes across town to get them and when I got to the drive thru he told me the coolata machine was broken. Now, they've told me this before and they just hadn't turned it on. I asked when it would be fixed and he said about 10-15 minutes. At that moment I flipped shit and screamed at him for a few minutes. As I'm peeling away I heard him ask if I still wanted the donut. I cried the whole way home. I was so ashamed of my behavior, but at the same time I felt justified. Ha! I confessed to my DH the next morning and he laughed so hard, then felt bad. He gave me $$ to go to starbucks and treat myself.
    I do realize that if I would have waited a few minutes I would have been happy.
  • Watermelon, burritos & Hawaiian Punch bomb pops. They are always in our freezer. One day I asked my boyfriend to grab me the last one out of the fridge and just to be funny he popped it in his mouth (he's not a huge popsicle fan) and I started bawling lol
  • I have had none.
  • Tomato and cuccumber salad with lime, salt, and pepper. Could eat it with every meal.

    And salami and pastrami sandwich, toasted on Dutch crunch with pepperchinis, lettuce, tomato, and mozzerella cheese.
  • Am looking forward so much to real coffee and sushi after the baby's born. I've been making do with decaf coffee and tea and not even that every day. I noticed some things like orange juice and raisins taste so much better now that I'm pregnant. I never really liked them before. Things I can eat a ton of now: burritos, nachos, milk, beef, spaghetti with meatballs, yogurt, anything high in protein, preferably spicy! I'm getting bored of drinking so much water but I need a lot of fluids so I'm always running out of /looking for more sparkling water, Perrier water, any other flavored beverage without too much bad stuff in it. I try to stay away from regular pop but will indulge in the natural varieties of root beer and ginger ale. So good!
  • I'm also really really tired of water, but I drink a ton of it like I'm supposed to. For a tasty drink treat I will have one of those Mexican sodas (jarritos, I think they're called?). They come in all kinds of tasty flavors (mango, pineapple, strawberry) and have no HFCS or caffeine. I'll have one with dinner.
    I forgot to add I'm really missing Thai food. Another thing that is too far away (I think the closest is Milwaukee, 3+hours drive)

  • I'm craving cinnamon toast crunch too. I need it every morning! I'm also craving Chipotle, but the line is always too long in my town and I don't have the patience to wait.

  • Soft pretzels
    I would love a large orange soda, mcdonalds french fries and a double cheeseburger.

    Really really dying for a cheeseburger right now...
  • I haven't eaten fast food in like 4 years and today all I could think about was Arby's... The sauces, the fries... So weird
  • Pineapple! And baby must love it too, he's always kicking away after I eat some.

    The past two weeks I've also been on a Cadbury Cream Egg kick! Which is terrible... But sooooo good!
  • BLT, asparagus, and greek salad.
  • Don't really have cravings but baby loves when I eat Reese's- moves around like crazy after
  • DQ banana cream pie blizzard! And ice cream, in all forms really.
