pregger bridesmaid..

Hi all..
Wondering if any of you have been stuck in this situation, or will be in it this year. I am a bridesmaid in one of my best friends wedding this summer.. Middle of August to be more specific and my due date is October 8. That will make me QUITE pregnant at the festivities!
I know she will be super supportive and still want me to do it no matter what, but I am worried about two things?
1. Traveling - hopefully everything will be OK, i'll get travelers insurance and get there by car if I have to
2. My dress - we are all picking our own dresses (which helps a little), although I have no idea where I would even start looking!

Any advice?!?!

Same boat. Currently due Oct 4th. My step sister is getting married in may and luckily I'm not in that one but I am maid of honor in my best friends wedding in June. I've already bought the dress before I knew I was pregnant. Its a bit big so I am praying it fits by June!

The traveling should be ok (just check with your OBGYN). Usually travel isn't limited until 37 weeks. And for the dress I would try both maternity stores and wedding places like David's bridal. Hope this helps!

I'm in a wedding in May. Luckily I should be able to fit in my dress. I hope!!!!! This is my second baby. I'm happy because the ceremony should be short and u won't have to worry about peeing during it.

I'm in a wedding in late October with an early October due date...even though I won't be pregnant, I will probably still have my belly! We can choose our dress style from a pretty diverse set of options...so I'm planning on picking an empire waist and hoping for the best!

I'm in a wedding in April for my best friend and she already bought my dress and I feel terrible. I won't have the money to alter it. I barely have the money to pay for it. I might just have to tell her I can't be in her wedding and to return my dress.

I'm MOH in my good friends wedding April 17th. I will be almost 16 weeks so not showing too much. The downside is the dress is not flattering in the stomach at all and I already have wide not so great hips so I'm pretty sure I'm just going to look and feel like a cow so that's great. The bride asked my opinion and my only request was forgiving in the hips and at least knee length it's above the knee and tight, oh well what we do for our friends:)

At my wedding my future SIL was 36 weeks pregnant and in my bridal party. She was considered high risk too. I found very flattering empire waist dresses for the ladies to wear. It was strapless but she said that her belly helped to hold up the strapless bra! I also wanted to take pictures at a place that involved some walking so we borrowed a travel wheelchair if she felt she needed it to get to the location. If your bride really wants you in the wedding then she will do her best to accommodate. My day was perfect and the pictures were beautiful.

My due date is 9 days before my friend's wedding & yes im a bridesmaid! Im just waiting until after my first ob appt to see how i measure, decide what im gonna do & talk to my friend about it. We havent bought dresses yet.

As you get closer to your third trimester, your doctor will give you advice on traveling based on how your pregnancy is going. For most women, you'd be fine traveling then.

As for the bridesmaid dress, I was in my sister's wedding when I was 5 weeks PP, so when I had to try on dresses, I was about 5.5 months pregnant. If the style of the dress allows for space for a belly to grow, you'll be fine if you try on a dress and it fits everywhere else. Give yourself time to have it altered and check with a place near you to see what short-notice alterations would cost. That way you could order one size up from what you try on and have it altered down in all the right places. It's SO nice that you get to pick your own dresses. Hopefully that means you'll be comfortable in your selection!

I'm in the same boat. I'm due Oct. 8 and my friend's wedding is Aug. 31. She doesn't know I'm pregnant, yet. I want to make it to the second trimester before I say anything.

I'm due Oct. 27 and I'm in my sister's wedding on June 6th. I already bought the dress; but I'm wondering if I'll need to return it and ask her if I can get a different style from everyone else's in a maternity size…Because I'll be between weeks 19 and 20 then.

I am in the same situation. I'm due Oct 7th. My sister is getting married Oct 10th and my husband and I are both supposed to be in the wedding. I am supposed to be matron of honor! I feel bad but am going to have to take myself out of the wedding. I told her we'll wait until after first trimester to make the decision but don't want to delay her plans. I am still going to throw her a shower and plan to be at the wedding unless I am in the hospital!

She wants us to get measured and order our dresses asap, but I'm not sure how big of a dress to order. Do I go up 2 sizes? It's my 1st pregnancy and I have no idea how I'll grow. HELP!

I am in the same boat. I am due mid October and the wedding is August 15. I haven't told my friend that I am pregnant yet but she knew my husband and I were going to start trying. She too has allowed us to pick out our own dresses. I am thinking I will try to buy off the rack if possible and start looking at the beginning of summer. Empire waist is probably the style I will go with.

Looks like I'm not the only one trying to fit into a bridesmaid dress while being further along. My due date is 2 weeks after i'm supposed to be in the wedding so I will def. be at my biggest. I have no idea when to order the dress/how many sizes to go up. Any advice would be appreciated!

I feel for you. I was a bridesmaid at 33 weeks last time and wasn't able to travel per my OB (it was across the country). I felt so bad, but luckily the bride understood.

@trishkev07 I am due on October 22 and in a wedding on October 10th, so a little less than 2 weeks before i am due. I am VERY nervous about this. My husband and I have been talking about it, and are going to decide what to do after we tell everyone after the first trimester when risks are much lower. Thankfully us girls are able to pick our own dresses, but they have to be short, a certain fabric, and color, so I am HOPING I can work something out. If I even decide to continue to go through with it!

I was 32 weeks pregnant during my sister's wedding. She had chosen the dress and I got one that was about 4 sizes too big and got it altered to my massive bump. I had to go by plane. I made sure to go a week early to visit family and not be super exhausted getting there the day of.

Ahhhh! I'm in the same boat. Due oct. 1st and in a wedding on aug 21st. I already ordered a medium dress when she picked it out in the fall and I just received my extra large in the mail yesterday. I am going to stick out like a sore thumb. All the girls are very tall and thin and I will be ginormous. This is my best friend too... I'm afraid I'll ruin all of her pictures... Sigh.... (Completely selfish, no one will be looking at me... But I will definitely be really self conscious!)

My best friend's wedding is oct 17 and I'm due oct 14. I told her I wouldn't be able to be in the wedding and probably not be able to go at all with a newborn and since I would have to travel a few hours to be there. Luckily she understood.

Sorry I can't be of any help. I just found out I'm pregnant last week and I am in my cousin's wedding this coming Saturday, so I already have my dress and no one knows about the pregnancy yet. My only concern right now, is will my boobs fit into this strapless dress now?!

My EDD is Oct 15th and my SIL's wedding is Oct 23rd!! We told the family yesterday. She's just sad if we can't be there! My 1st u/s is March 9th. Hoping to get a more definite due date. Either way I will have to get a bigger dress & praying hard that I can be there for her & she can be there for the delivery of our precious angel!!! I have faith it will all work out. Unfortunely we can't plan this kind of thing out. So don't stress and go with the flow!
