I posted a thread about being concerned that my belly been getting so big in just 7 months. @maplebar said it could be that I gained too much weight. And I should tell everyone exactly how much i weight and how many pounds I've gained each week. So here goes nothing, I'm 208lb I've been gaining about 2 or 3lbs a week. What you ladies think? Have I gained to much weight? Should I go on a diet? I've heard vitamins make you gain weight. Should I stop taking my prenatals?

Re: Weight gain

  • Don't stop taking the prenatal. You will be able to lose weight after you give birth. I gained 60 with my first and lost all of it and more with Zumba and using a total gym. I'm pregnant again and there are weeks where I gain up to 5 lbs. I dont expecially like it but I'm not going to starve myself cause the third trimester is where the baby gains fat and needs the extra calories.

  • Has your doctor mentioned concern about your weight gain? That's the person to ask as everyone is different in their gain
  • You gain as much as you need for the baby.

After the baby, just work hard to lose it.
  • Your fine, your dr would let you know if you were gaining too much. Up until 20 weeks I gained 3 pounds, I've gained a total of 25 this pregnancy, and am 31 weeks currently. Weight gain isn't really tht big of an issue
  • OP I have to believe that the person who told you to post was teasing you. That is absolutely ridiculous. Everybody gains a different amount and has a different set of circumstances. Talk to your doctor and if she or he isn't concerned then you don't need to be either. And if you don't trust your doc enough to follow their advice, then my suggestion is get a new doc.
  • What has happened to this board? Also, I'm pretty sure you shouldn't gain weight while pregnant?
  • Im 7 1/2 months i weigh 160 as of today

  • Everyone gains differently.

I'd only be concerned if you have excessive gain, high BP & swelling.

If your doctor isn't concerned, then you should be okay.
  • Oh yeah this is why I haven't been on this bored for a while. I just lost two minutes of my life that may never be returned :(
  • I can't. I just can't.

Ok. I can. But I'm buying my tongue so hard it might bleed.

For someone who starts at a healthy weight, with a normal healthy lifestyle, the recommended weight gain over an entire pregnancy is between 25-35 lbs. if you are concerned about your weight gain, talk to your doctor. Typically no one is recommended to "diet" per se, while pregnant, except those with GD that have a special diet to follow along with blood sugar testing. But you should also not overindulge or eat for two just because you are pregnant.

That bit about vitamins causing weights in is bullshit. Your troll is showing!!!! Better go cover it up.

I just can't with this nonsense. I find my way back after a week or two help me forget the mindlessness that has become The Dump and I find this post.

Hey Ladies I was just kidding. I am not being bullied by @mablebar. I am 208lbs and could care less. I'm "big" I'm pregnant and I'm loving it. I'm actually planning on keeping a lot of the weight after the baby. And I am not going to stop taking my prenatals (I do hate them doe)

I might be like 212lbs after last nights V-Day dinner with DH ❤️
