my son is 3 wks old and the past 3 nights now he's been screaming crying with gas pains for hours hardly sleeping a wink...but fine during the day! so confused why this is?!
My 4wk old was doing this. Mainly in the evening and during the night. Doc switched her to soy and she handles the gas so much better. We also use the gas drops.
Proud Mom to Kaleigh (14yr) Emma (12yr) and Hanna (7yr)
We switched to Similac Sensitive, Dr. Brown Bottles, and the Gas Drops and those 3 things helped a lot. Same issue with one of my twins for the first few nights at home slept great during day and fussy at night.

Our little girl gets gassy at night, she gets a lot of relief if we prop her up, usually against our legs. Then gently pushing her legs up towards her chest and back, or if in the rocking chair just putting her feet against my tummy and rocking and it pumps her legs. She usually poops or passes gas within 15 minutes or less- then she feeds one more time and passes out for the night.
Re: screaming with gas pains...only at night?
Their intestines are immature so at night when they are laying down the gas & poop moving through are uncomfortable. They do outgrow it.
You can try picking baby up & rubbing their back, belly & legs. It's all a part of learning to be outside the womb.
