I'm type 1 and 22 weeks pregnant. I wear an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor. With my growing belly it's becoming difficult to find a good site for my glucose monitor. Anyone else going through this?? Would love some advice...thanks!!
I'm also a Type 1, 20 weeks, on a pump, and occasionally on a cgm. This might not work for everyone, but I have always preferred hips/upper butt area. I have tried thighs and always feel like I hit something, but there's not a lot going on in the hips besides fat. Just be careful to pick a spot that doesn't interfere with the waist of your pants too much. I even sleep on my sides and it doesn't bother me. Good luck!
I am not type one but grew up with many people who are and even went to diabetes camp for 10 years, only thought that came to mind is even though you might not normally put sites in your arm might be worth a try. Plus I wanna say props to both of you being pregnant is rough I can't imagine doing it an being diabetic.
@sls2015@mjschenk thanks to both of you for your replies! I put the cgm on my upper butt like you suggested and it's so much better! Thanks for the tip.
I have type 1 also, I wear my pump on my sides and upper belly. I haven't worn my cgm in a few weeks because it wasn't getting good connection and was getting itchy since it stays in for 7 days. I'm looking forward to the summer to wear dresses and not have maternity jeans rubbing on my pump.
