39 + 1 - Last week I had a sore throat & stuffy nose & felt nauseous several days. This week my nose won't stop running. I mentioned it to my dr as I read somewhere about signs of labor - SHE SAID TO REST, BABIES MOST OFTEN WILL WAIT UNTIL MOM FEELS BETTER. She also mentioned that if you do deliver & aren't feeling well IT'S GOING TO SUCK!
Much like diagnosing a pregnancy, almost anything is a sign of labor pending. You'll know it when it actually happens. Just hang out. Call your doctor if you have questions.
Hmm, I've had signs of impending labor for 2weeks now. I also have 3 little kids with colds. I'm thinking it's just a cold.

I see some not very friendly responses here. I know the feeling of seriously grasping for anything. I've heard the same, just remember to focus on the contractions, water breaking, or call your doc if worried. My doc did tell me that my flu like symptoms were most likely my body preparing, he was also very honest and said that right now we just don't know exactly what is happening with my body. By the way, he also made sure I didn't have the flu. I appreciated his honesty. You'll know when it's time, just like I will, but that doesn't stop us from grasping at anything we can and thinking labor must be on the way. Hang in there!

Which responses do you see as not being very friendly?
I haven't heard or experienced that, but I imagine it would be awful to go into labor while sick.
My SIL went into labor with a fever... She said it was the worst. Even though she was 40+w at the time, they had a short NICU stay to monitor her LO for any lasting effects. I felt so sorry for her, I can't even imagine how awful it must have been!
I have had my flu jab and don't have a cold just stuffy head etc as mentioned just grasping at anything now I'm sure we have all felt ready for our babies to come & listened to old wives tales, hoping everything is a sign of labour on its way!
Honestly, when people tell you that you know when you're going into labor, they are serious. When I was pregnant with my baby boy I would always look for "signs of labor," but when it's true labor, you'll know.
What's a flu jab? I've had & believe most if not all (minus those who are against shots) pregnant moms had the flu shot. The strain in this years shot was a dud - so to speak. I've been sick twice this winter. When you're pregnant your immune system isn't as strong as normal to allow you're body to create such a wonderful blessing - aka baby
I think I had diarrhea yesterday, but still no apparent signs of baby - just saying..
I had a sinus infection and ended up with the stomach flu this weekend, with a C-section scheduled for 6 days from now. I am not in labor, just plain old sick. No fun.
