Thursday Symptoms Thread! Dry Skin, Nausea, Heartburn, RLP, Insomnia! POST IT ALL HERE!

Hey June Mamas!
Starting a symptoms thread for today as well, let's keep our board organized.

I'll start with mine! I'm trying to combat with forehead acne...I don't think I've ever had breakouts as bad as this before pregnancy. Other than that my acid reflux has subsided a bit (woo) but my sinuses are still a little stuffed and swollen feeling. I've tried hot showers and blowing my nose more often and nothing has worked so far. Frustrating for sure.

So how are you all feeling? I'd love to hear it.

  • Had some cramping last night, called the nurse and she said unless there is any bloody discharge or leaking of liquid to just keep hydrated and stay in bed. So right now I'm watching trashy tv, downing copious amounts of liquid and chilling in bed.

@frankengibbs‌ - might wanna try a neti pot to flush out your sinuses? I've used them before and they work wonders. Hope you feel better soon.

I've had some mild cramping as well, as a PGAL mom it stresses me out a bit, but without even asking I've been told that it is normal by a few NPs and my OB. Relaxing and keeping hydrated do help, I've also noticed deep breathing (think yoga) works wonders.

I've heard mixed reviews about the Netti pot, but at this point I'm just about willing to try anything.
  • I've had a headache for EIGHT days!!! :(
  • I have a horrible sore throat and laryngitis .... Ugh for like two weeks now! Doctor said that pregnancy has a way of increasing the length of time these cold symptoms linger.... It's terrible and not a whole lot helps. Tea and honey provides a little relief ... And throat lozenges help a little but I just want my voice back!

Have you talked to your OB about taking some low dose Tylenol? It can't be good for it to go on that long...Best advice I have is just to get lots of rest, eat power foods like bananas, and drink lots of water as always.
  • @ElRuby‌ Yikes! I hope you start feeling better soon! That sounds miserable...Honey and lemon in the tea is a must, that's for sure.
  • @ngaines27‌ if you've had a headache for 8 days you need to talk to your OB. Having a constant headache is a sign of high blood pressure which is part of pre-eclampsia.

Try cutting out high fructose corn syrup... My doctor recommended it a while ago when I used to get headaches and it really helped! It's not always possible but I try to be more aware of buying food without it as an ingredient.
  • I thought I was done with the nausea but it has reared it's ugly head again...making it hard to want to eat. I eat little bits just to get some nutrients but food is just very unappealing
  • @frankengibbs‌ the nedipot is amazing I have delta with chronic sinus problems for years! It's really not fun! Also talk to your ob mine has told me Sudafed is ok to take.

For me it's been my siacitic nerve. I am 20 weeks and it's been a pain in my ass since week 8! I'm ready for this child to move off my nerve already.

I have. I tried that for 3 days and when that didn't work he called in a Rx of furicet (I have no idea if I spelled that correctly). That hasn't helped much either. :(

I've talked with my OB. My blood pressure is fine, actually the low side of normal. This is my third pregnancy and unfortunately something I've dealt with each time. However, I've never been told to cut out high fructose corn syrup, @EIRUBY. I'm going to give that a shot.
  • Heartburn. All day.
  • My nipples itch. Wtf?

  • Low kicks to my cervix! Anyone experiencing this? What do you to make it better?
  • Tingling arms, like they've both fallen asleep.
  • My husband said he was going to bring home take out from my favorite restraunt today. He forgot. He works 5 minutes away from said restraunt, but we live 45 minutes away. He got home tonight and I asked him where dinner was. The look on his face: he felt so bad. It was too late for us to go then, as the restraunt would be closed by the time we got there. Of course, I started ugly crying. So I guess my symptom is being super emotional over food.

I've had that problem too...keep moisturized ands for the other itch that feels internal, honestly all I can do is try to ignore it.

Hmm...that's strange. I've never heard of that symptom. You'll have to update us about what your doc says.
Have they actually fallen asleep or is just a nerve sensation?
  • Iv been awake since three am tossing and turning my arms falling asleep no matter what position I'm in im so tired here lately and I just can't sleep -_- babygirl is doing amniotic fluid aerobics or something it seems like she can't get comfy either lol but I don't mind I love feeling her move around anybody still in that really tired phase ??

Yes definitely I just try to get her to move a bit so it's less painful
  • Started having leg cramps last night.. charlie horses are the worst. I had them bad with my last pregnancy too. My doctor recommended sleeping on my left side, but that doesn't help. Lol. And I've tried to eat bananas and it just increases being constipated, which I already have a problem with because of my anemia. I have to take extra iron. Also got put on 8mg of Zofran because I am nauseated and vomiting alllll day long. 4mg wasn't kicking it. Hope everyone else is feeling better then me =)
  • DD has discovered the joys of kicking/punching my bladder and (I think?) cervix. This means that, as much as I appreciate the reassurance that DD is happy and healthy in there, I've discovered that not all kicks make me smile. So ready for her to shift positions and go back to just kicking my belly!

  • Acne, acne, and acne. I've been having pain in my left hip when I sleep on my left side. Ugh it's awful. Oh, and I found my very first stretch mark on my right breast. =( My breasts grew 2 cup sizes in the first trimester, but they have been so insanely sore lately. I guess they are growing again.
  • I developed a rash from stress...it's becoming itchy. Will take some benadryl tonight to if that works.

    Nausea has come back :(
  • I'm a miserable wretch today! A whining pissed off bitch!
  • My tummy itches so bad now! I've tried every lotion I have in my house my mom got me Shea butter and it helped a little I'm still searching for a solution.

Carpal tunnel pain keeps me up all night!! I had to buy gloves to wear on my hands while sleeping I hope it works
  • Still having anxiety, but after speaking with my doctor today hopefully I'll get some relief (and sleep) soon. Got to hear LO's heartbeat; that is such an awesome sound.

I had that problem during my 1st pregnancy and it SUCKED!!! I hope you get relief quickly.
  • I'm 22 weeks and still have nausea and I have high rate heartbeat and acid reflux too I don't know what to say more
  • Not feeling too bad today, just what I am now calling the usual aches and pains (back pain, pressure point pain at my hips when I lay down). This very minute having severe craft beer jealously after reading a post on fb about a friend having one of my fav brews.
