Wednesday Symptoms Thread! Back Pain, Acid Reflux, Headaches, BM's & Whatever Else! Post Here!!!

Hey Mamas!
Haven't seen a symptoms thread for today with all the new TOU craziness so in order to keep our board from being cluttered with a bunch of individual symptoms threads, let's put it all here!

As for me, my top two symptoms are sinus pain/stuffiness and acid reflux. Not fun at all, but the tip I got in yesterday's thread (from @ElRuby‌ I think) about propping myself up to sleep was spot on so thank you for that.

How are you all feeling?

  • @MW02120714‌ I tried checking it out yesterday, but the format was difficult to navigate since I am primarily on my smart phone. I have yet to decide if I'm going to keep at it or not to be honest...

  • I think I'll give it another try then, it's been really disappointing that the climate of the board keeps changing and just when we were back on the road to normal...poof!

There is no more normal here.  Unless you like BabyCenter style glitter.

No, that's exactly why I came here and it was nice for a while but it's been a roller coaster ever since...
  • Round ligament pain. Ugh. Is there anything to relieve this?
  • Hardly any symptoms listed, might have to sign up on the other site just to actually have some discussions! I've checked it out but haven't signed up. Anyway I just wanted to complain that I'm either nauseous or eating everything in sight, not much in between.

I don't think there is much you can do to prevent RLP other than try not to make sudden sharp movements. Relaxing in a warm bath seems to help me some.

    Glad the propping up helped!
  • I get tangled in my Boppy pregnancy pillow! So annoying... But it's so heavenly when I fall asleep that I try again every night....it must be because I get up several times per night to use the bathroom... So that's my other symptom.
  • Achy ankles!

Best advice I've heard for RLP is to not make any sharp or quick movements where you stretch yourself too far. As far as just abdominal pain without the movement, take a moment to relax and take deep breaths. If you feel like anything is weird or too painful, talk to your OB.
  • Achy ankles!

    Swelling or just sore?
  • Achy ankles!

Me too! For me its both swelling and sore. One of them has been messed up since I was a teen and it was fairly normal for it to swell any day, even when I worked a desk job and was off my feet. With preggo feet its just...sigh. Now I work on my feet and I try to compensate by using my other foot more. By the end of a shift I usually go home and end up laying in bed, moving my feet helplessly back and forth trying to relieve the pain. Thank the gods I only work part time, 2-3 days a week.

Side note, and I plan to ask my OB about this when there next week, but has anyone here used a joint cream like icy hot or tiger balm in these situations? I'm going to hold off until I speak with the Dr regardless, but curious how others deal with this?

  • Insomnia, headaches, stress, depression. I'm feeling like I can barely hold my head above water today. :( Every little bump has caused a major emotional melt down today and I hate feeling like this. Hoping sleep finds me soon and tomorrow will be much brighter.
  • I had my first experience with Braxton Hicks contractions last night. It was....interesting. Not painful, just weird.
  • It's a snowy wintry hell in Boston, and I'm getting sick of hoisting myself in and out of my car, constantly having to bend over to switch from work shoes to boots, and have my DH panic every time it's icy out. Also my good winter jacket won't zip over my belly. Um so I guess my symptom is that my belly is starting to just get in the way and it's annoying right now!
  • Hip sciatica! Started the other day...it sucks! I can't bend to one side, and I need to have my hubs give me a butt massage at night. It sounds more fun than it is, it's painful!

  • Stomach flu the last two days. Haven't been able to eat anything since Tuesday at lunch. Feeling bad for the baby but I'm sure he's fine. Hoping I will be able to eat a little something today.
  • Nonstop Braxton Hicks or contractions..every time I get up and walk they start and thats why im nailed mostly in my bed..doctor's advice.. It's really not nice...and brings a lot of stress and anxiety. then i have heartburn, ligament pains. But it's all for a great reason!!!
  • I have quite a few but the symptom that I'm having the most trouble with is stress & anger.  I work in a stressful environment and I can feel that I'm more and more emotional by the day.  I need an effective method to deal with this at work so I don't snap at someone haha.  Any suggestions are much appreciated!!
  • Dry skin and hair! My skin, which was always slightly oily on my face before, is so dry it is literally flaking off. I've tried several moisterizers to no avail; it got so bad this morning I put straight coconut oil on my face...hoping that won't cause a break out! Same deal with my hair. I used to have to wash it every day or every other day, now I'm washing it very four days because it's been so dry.

Hoping the rest of you June Moms get some releif from your symptoms soon!

I am currently living in a high-stress environment myself, best advice I have for dealing with the ugly rainbow of emotions is to find someone to vent to who isn't biassed or directly involved, go for a walk (if the weather allows), and take your opportunities to get away. Deep breaths and remember that it doesn't have to be permanent.

Hope you feel better soon! Get lots of rest and as @HKbaby1906‌ said it's all for a good reason! I love that outlook.
  • I need help on how to sleep better. I'm up till sometime 4 or 5am and then wake up constantly thru the night. AND my whole body hurts. My back and hips the worst. I have bursitis in both my hips so that doesn't help. This is my first pregnancy. Can anyone help??

Have you tried a pregnancy or body pillow?

Chikinguyna at 20 weeks pregnant. I'm having joint pains high fever headaches with a bad chest cold. Anyone can relate? Called my doctor and he said just take paracetamol. The emergency room is not required. And I have a bit of nauseau.
    :-&
  • This is baby #2 for me and I don't remember this with the first one at all, but I have been feeling slightly depressed this pregnancy. It comes and goes- but this week has just been tough. I feel like I'm on the verge of crying (when I have no reason to). Must just been crazy hormone changes or something. I'm in a "funk"
  • The non stop crying today is fun
