High Risk OBGYN/Hospital (Central NJ)

Hi!  I am currently 7wks pregnant, I recently moved to NJ (East Windsor) and I need to find an OBGYN who can handle a high risk pregnancy case.  My son was born early at 28wks and had to spend 3 months in a NICU, plus I am an older patient.  Princeton-Plainsboro is the closest hospital to me, and I've heard great things but I know they only have a Level 2 NICU and that does concern me.  I'm also looking at Capital Health in Trenton and St. Peters due to their Level 3 NICUs, even though they are farther away.  Can anyone recommend a doctor or practice that delivers at any of those hospitals, or have any other information/advice they can share?  Thanks!

  • My SIL delivered at St. Peters, and my Nephew was is the NICU for two weeks. The hospital is great, and labour and delivery unit is great. I love there postpartum wing. She went to St.Peters obgyny group on How Lane. They also have MFM group at the hospital. The doctors are wonderful there.

  • St Barnabas has the best NICU and New Jersey Perinatal Associates are amazing. I had a scare at 25 weeks and had to see the high risk docs for 2 months....can't praise them enough. I recognize that they may be too far for you but if you can travel the distance, I highly recommend them.
  • I went into preterm labor (was thankfully able to be stopped) at 34 weeks. I go to Lawrenceville OBGYN (ONLY the Hamilton office because the other ones are super busy with longer wait times), and delivered at Capital Health. I LOVED Capital Health. When in PTL, my husband couldn't be with me (it was the day of his dad's funeral), and the nursing staff was incredible and caring. They were equally as wonderful when I came back to actually deliver my son. I can't say enough good things about them.

  • I just delivered my daughter early at St. Peter's. She was in the NICU for 10 days. The L&D staff and NICU staff were amazing. I can't recommend them enough.

  • I'm a patient at Princeton OBGYN (associated with the hospital) and I'm a high risk too, but I have a genetic mutation that can cause me to clot too much. They have 5 doctors I believe, and so far my experience has been good. Best of luck to you.
