  My MW advised against diflucan until we had tried all other options. My pedi was more willing to prescribe it but liked to try the other options first as well so I never actually had to take it.
  
  This is what I found on the internet:
  Your prescription will be for fluconazole 400 mg as a first dose, followed by 100 mg twice daily until you are pain free for a full week, which usually means at least two weeks.
