moved out of state and can't get a Dr.

Hi Ladies!! I'm 34 weeks and need your help or any suggestions.

I just moved to a new state a week ago and have been having the hardest time finding a Dr. It seems like none of the nurses want to help at all. I faxed my medical records in and still no call back even when they say they would call me back. I'm getting so stressed out about it because I was suppose to be seen yesterday for a regular checkup at my old clinic. Do you ladies have an y ideas or suggestions for me?

Re: moved out of state and can't get a Dr.

  • That seems strange :/

With my first pregnancy we moved around 34 weeks and found an OB rather quickly. Can you get on a local FB page and ask for opinions on a great Dr.?
  • Loading the player...
  • I did that already and I have no idea why it is so complicating. Especially since I did everything rather quickly.
  • I guess you'll just have to keep calling and hooefully annoy them enough that they'll help lol!

Definitely something you don't want to worry and stress about though.. Hoping you get ahold of someone that will actually help :)
  • Thanks. That's all I've been doing. I'm going to do everything one more time and hopefully this time they'll get everything by noon tomorrow and have no excuses as to why it's taking so long.
  • I would call your insurance company if your not getting anywhere. Ask them for help finding a doc and tell them what was happening. They know all the doctors and their network team or nurses can normally help put you in contact with a practice. Some companies even will have people call and make the appointments for you. They want you to have a doc as much as you do really.
  • Are you contacting the hospital or calling clinics?

I’m a modern man, a man for the millennium. Digital and smoke free. A diversified multi-cultural, post-modern deconstruction that is anatomically and ecologically incorrect. I’ve been up linked and downloaded, I’ve been inputted and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I’m a high-tech low-life. A cutting edge, state-of-the-art bi-coastal multi-tasker and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond! I’m new wave, but I’m old school and my inner child is outward bound. I’m a hot-wired, heat seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice activated and bio-degradable. I interface with my database, my database is in cyberspace, so I’m interactive, I’m hyperactive and from time to time I’m radioactive.

  • Perhaps your former doctor could make a call for you? Good luck!
  • Thank you Ladies! I called twice a day everyday and finally got a Dr. I'm so relieved. Being this far and not being able to see a Dr. was stressing me out a bit.
  • I just recently moved from NY to FL when I was 35 weeks, I totally understand the panic, anxious frustrated feeling of the OB office not getting back to you quicker. Basically after I sent my records over I called and insisted they scheduled an appointment and maintained a sense of urgency because "uhh I'M 35 WEEKS!!". That got the ball rolling for me but I know every place is different. So try calling back with a sense of urgency to see someone and if that doesn't work call your insurance and see if they can recommend a different dr that you could try. GOOD LUCK! I'm sure you'll get an appointment soon. Just keep calling, don't stress yourself but stress to them that at this late in the game you can't afford to work at their time.
