Gender myths . . .

Is it true that when its a boy, it's all belly? And when it's a girl it's more body, plus belly? Can anyone relate?

Re: Gender myths . . .

  • With my son, I started out all belly but by the last 10-ish weeks, my face got bigger (more swollen than anything) and my weight gain distributed pretty evenly throughout my whole body.

  • Not true at all. When I was pregnant with DS I put on a lot of weight in my hips and thighs in the beginning of the pregnancy. This time is completely different...granted we wont find out what we are having for another 2 weeks. Every pregnancy is different regardless of the sex of the baby.
  • Well I feel ugly. I never broke out so bad until I got pregnant
  • I thinkbi read somewhere that's a myth and has more to do with how in shape you are. If you in shape and have tight abs you carry more out front in the belly and if your abs aren't that tight you'll carry more in the hips and sides. I could be wrong too but I'm pretty sure that's what I read.
  • I have carried identically in all 3 pregnancies and I have a DS and DD thus far.
  • Mine held true, I just had a basketball belly, no weight gain anywhere else with my DS.
  • I gained 80lbs with my DS and retained water terribly. I was huge all over! You couldn't tell my thigh from my ankle, so ya boys aren't just belly. But I LOVE being pregnant so I never cared :)
  • There is a reason why they are called myths and old wives tales. They are not accurate.

  • My oldest boy - I got fat all over and didn't look pregnant until 35 weeks.

My almost 10-month-old boy - All belly, and I started showing around 28 weeks.

This time, we don't know the gender yet, but I'm just flabby and still not showing.
