Help with a girl name, middle name Noel

You may remember me. Our favorite girl name was Dylan. It got bad feedback from everyone here but I didn't really care because I liked it. So, fast forward to now and I'm 26 weeks pregnant with a girl... We told everyone her name was Dylan Noel and a friend I went to school with said she was naming her baby Dylan if it's a girl. She's having a girl. I know it's NBD but it feels weird to have both of them named that. Also, I pictured her being confused for a boy every year on the first day of school. I'm starting to agree that Dylan may not be the best name for our girl but we can't agree on anything.

Middle name doesn't have to be Noel but we like it. Husband doesn't want Noel for first name.

I like nature names mostly, and names with nicknames such as:
Ivy
Isla
Maybe something like Adrianna, call her Aidee or similar
Eve
Everly

DH likes things like:
Sidney
Sophie
Morgan

I'm into more uncommon names, my husband obviously is not.

Help me with more suggestions or ideas, please? I promise I'll be more receptive this time. :)

  • Oh, I didn't realize that. I like Noel because it's simple and Noelle seemed like a lot of extra to get the point across. Let's say Noelle is less necessary now. We don't love it spelled that way. We're crazy people, I know..

  • Noel is boy (pronounced like knoll)
    Noelle is girl (pronounced No-Elle)

    Sophia Noelle
    Summer Noelle
    Willa Noelle
    Wren Noelle
    Calla Noelle
    Eden Noelle
    Rayna Noelle
    Olive Noelle
    Grier Noelle
  • I can believe this is so hard for me! I like Eden. We both have said we like Olive but I'm not sure I can really picture our baby named Olive. I feel like Sophia is too popular. Is Everly bad? I'm liking it, husband doesn't love it but could possibly be persuaded. What's similar to Everly?

  • I don't mind Everly actually....it is suuuuuuper trendy though.

    Similar to Everly (using nymbler)

    Harper Noelle
    Marley Noelle
    Poppy Noelle
    Elsie Noelle
    Audrina Noelle
    Jolie Noelle
    Anya Noelle
    Audra Noelle
    Quinn Noelle
    Vada Noelle
    Bay Noelle
    Haven Noelle
    Aria Noelle
    Hattie Noelle
    Isla Noelle
  • I actually just added Fiona to my list. My favorite thing about Everly is that we could call her Eve, Evie or Ever. I like the nickname options. Maybe that's because I'm having trouble committing. I'm also really leaning toward Isla, it seems so grown up though so its hard to picture it on a baby. I know she'll grow into it.

  • I'll chime in with Isla Rose
  • Rose was our 2nd choice for middle name!

  • I'd go with Isla Rose. I love the name Isla but one of my best friends named her daughter that 6 years ago so I could never use it.

FWIW, I believe that Noël with the accent mark above the "e" is pronounced the same way as Noelle.  Noel without the accent mark is definitely a male name and pronounced differently (like "nole").

With or without the accent, the spelling Noel is the male version of the name. This is a french word. In french, to make a masculine word (Noel) feminine, you add "le."

While the accent gives you the sane pronouncuation as you're going for, the word still retains its masculinity until you add "le" to the end.
