Trying to Get Pregnant

I want to test so bad

AF is due Feb 6th, and idk if I can wait to test...but I don't want to be disappointed. Me and DH agreed that if I was a whole week late, then I would test. As of right now, these are my symptoms...on and off nausea, slightly more dizzy than normal, insomnia, but tired, peeing more than usual, BAD heartburn, vivid dreams. Me and DH had our sexy time, and typically around this time I HATE sexy time cause he always hits my cervix, but this time it felt awesome and he didn't hit anything! I checked my cervix this morning and it was high and soft...hoping this is our month...thoughts?

  • I think if it's not your month you should start temping so you know exactly when to take a test. No one here knows if you're pregnant.

These resources might help you confirm pregnancy without having to take an actual test:

Watch yourself. Many users who have posted links (even to non-competitor sites) are getting warned and/or banned.
Noted, thanks! I would not want to get a warning now, would I :-)

  • OP - to reiterate some pp, without a confirmed ovulation you cannot know when AF is "due" because cycles fluctuate even for those that are usually very consistent. Symptoms are nearly, if not impossible to attribute to pregnancy, AF or a number of other things - so we can't really help you out on that front.
That said, if AF happens to actually be due in two days, you could get a positive, you could get a neg that will lead to AF, you could get a neg that will lead to a positive because it was "too early" to test (egg not implanted or don't have enough hcg YET to turn test positive). The advantage of waiting is that it limits the last possibility or you may see AF , negating the need for a test. The guidelines I've seen are wait until AF is due (as best you know that) and then test 1/week until AF, bfp, or cd60.
That all said, the tww can suck and my mind loves to symptom spot, etc. If you want a more "accurate" test, try to wait it put, if you want to test sooner/more often, no one is going to stop you and extra tests won't affect the success of a cycle.

You're joking right? Cervical position is a known secondary fertility sign, just like CM. People check an chart their CP all the time. If you're going to snark, at least know what the fuck you're talking about.
My fingers just ain't long enough for that.

Yea... Cervical Position is fairly common to use as a secondary sign, especially for women who may not produce much mucus. For many women, it's not that hard to do, and Fertility Friend has a whole tutorial about it.

  • It's ok to symptom spot. We are all doing it. Even the ones trying to play it cool. However don't get too psyched until it's poas time.

  • Lol at sexy time. But yes cervical position can help you pinpoint ovulation and help you see if you are about to start. Your cervix is open and high when you ovulate. It will close but stay high if you're pregnant. It will drop and open when you're about to start your period. I used this as a sign to test or not. If I felt my cervix low and open, I wouldn't waste the money on a test. Although it's not a guaranteed symptom, it is a secondary. Open cervix is soft like the middle of your chin, closed is harder like the tip of your nose.
