HELP! I can't stop with the candy!

I'm having a horrible time with trying to control my sweet tooth... It's not even sweets just candy! Funny thing is before I was pregnant I wasnt a candy/sweets person. I always ate healthy, worked out was fit and now all I want is carbs, candy and to sit on my butt! Anyone have suggestions?

  • I don't know how much better this suggestion is, bc I know these also have semi-high sugar rates, but what about dried fruit or Welch's fruit snacks instead? 
  • Cravings mean you are lacking a vitamin. I was craving diet coke last week. I was actually lacking calcium.
    Do some research as to what you really need.
  • I want milkshakes...all the time!!
  • if you are craving something sweet - try a piece of fruit instead of sweets.

    never go shopping hungry.

    avoid the candy/pop/chips aisle at the store.

  • Have you tried looking on the internet for sugar free cookies...you can make some great banana oat cakes that only contain natural sugar and oats are great for energy
  • Great! I will look into all those suggestions. I have been eating fruits and it seems to help a lot!
  • I know what you mean...my guilty pleasure lately has been chips. I never just ate chips now I'm eating Cheetos, Doritos, Lays you name it! And to whoever said just don't eat it is def trying to hard to give a snark response because everyone knows it's not that easy not to give into cravings.
  • We took all of our Christmas candy and consolidated it into one big bowl on our kitchen table. Everytime I walked past it, I had to eat a piece and I felt like crap. Every. Day.

    I ended up taking all the candy to work and letting my coworkers pig out, then put a bowl of fruit on the kitchen table instead. ;)

    For me, it was all about what was accessable. It was easier to eat candy than make a salad.

  • I've never been one with a sweet tooth but DH and I were talking last night and said how all I want is sugar candies right now. Swedish fish are my weakness
  • Try fruit. Candy's really bad for you. It's also really bad for your teeth, especially during pregnancy!
