2nd Trimester

is it normal to have second trimester sickness?

In my first trimester I had lost of nausea and dizziness, but never actually got sick. Tonight(technically last night, it's almost 5 in the morning) my stomach started hurting about 8:30, but it was an actual pain hurt like as if you hit your toe on something. And it hurt so much to the point I was crying and nothing would help, laying down made it tons worse so I sat up until about 10:30-11 then I just passed out. I got woke up at 2:30 this morning to having to get sick, and since I haven't been able to leave the bathroom and all I can do is sit up. I will be 18 weeks Monday(tomorrow). Also I have a spot on my upper left stomach that hurts super bad when you push on it, it came up about two weeks ago but I thought maybe it was just sore from bumping into something and I've had some cramps and sharp pains in my lower stomach and in my lower back as well and my entire stomach(some from baby belly) but mostly the upper part is badly bloated/swollen like, this happened suddenly around the time the spot on my upper left stomach come up but wasn't as bad as it is now. I plan to call my doctor first thing Monday as I don't think he has a number he could be reached at after hours. Could this be something totally normal, or even related to the sudden sickness? Or is this something that needs more immediate attention? Is there anything I can do to help me at least be able to lay down without having to get back up to run to the bathroom? I am so tired and my back is hurting from staying over the toilet so much, I also have a 2 year old who will be wide open tomorrow, I need some advice/help as quickly as possible as to what I can do for this. Thanks in advance.

  • Yeah ... It could be a hernia or something.... Get to ER .. Good luck
  • I didn't even read it all, you need to call your doctor and go to the ER.
Severe pain, to the point of tears, is always a reason to immediately call your doctor.
  • Update?!  Hope you called the doc!

At about 20 weeks last pregnancy, I got hit with kidney hydronephrosis and a possible kidney stone.  It started as a dull back ache on a Friday and by Monday ... it was the Worst.Pain.Ever in my back, flank and stomach.  I will gladly give birth 10 times over instead of feeling that pain again.  Hospital for 3 days with lots of fluids, pain and sleeping meds.
  • That doesn't even sound remotely pregnancy related. I'd go to the ER ASAP.

    Yep, this.

  • I got to the doctor in the morning. Will update when I find something out.
  • They done an ultrasound where it hurts at and on the baby. Everything was fine with it and they said that the pain could be from gas or constipation to try tums and see if it helps and if it doesn't get better to call back.
