06/03/2015. almost 24 weeks.

Grapefruit?

2 kids.. 2yrs and 6 yrs and one dog.. 10 yrs.

Feeling pretty good in general. Still have some pretty major insomnia going on that's driving me nuts. I'm pretty tired most days because of that. Other than that, feeling pretty decent.

My next OB appt. is Wednesday. I'll be exactly 24 weeks. I'm guessing they will probably start talking about the glucose testing soon. I think it's funny because with my daughter I was treating with the high risk clinic at another hospital and I was monitored really closely but they never were checking proteins in urine .. never did the glucose test either. This time is more like my first pregnancy. They're 'monitoring' me more closely which just means I'm seen weekly for my injections and bi-weekly for OB appt's instead of every 4 weeks. But all they really do is check heartbeat and talk to me. It's been a long time since I've done the normal pregnancy stuff though.. like being measured and peeing in a cup every visit and talking about glucose.. I didn't do any of that stuff when I was pregnant with my daughter!

We're in Michigan. I grew up about 45 minutes east of where we live. My husband grew up where we are currently living. We are just outside of the community where our kids go to school and hope to be able to sell soon and move within the community. It reminds me a lot of the way my hometown used to be when I was a kid. very small town. Very safe. Everyone knows everyone. It's quiet. It's a nice little town. I don't really like the actual city we live in but we're so east side that we're really not near any of the unfavorable areas.

June 18. 21 or 22 weeks depending on which site you prefer. Bump says Ewok is the size of a pomegranate, other site says length of a barbie but weighs about a pound.

Tired a lot. My feet hurt. Otherwise pretty good.

Appointment this Thursday just cause its that time again. Rant - I'm tired of hearing about the stuff we preggo ladies can potentially not have. Someone posted here in the Over 35 board about grapes, and someone in my BM board posted about tomatoes. Just lemme eat my damned food, ya'll. Rave - I bartend at a bowling alley, and last night a local restaurant had a party there with all these huge, beautiful cupcakes on display. When they were done and had leftover cupcakes they asked the staff if we wanted any. My coworker told them I was preggo and secured me 4 of them all to myself!!!

DH and I live in the Door peninsula in Wisconsin. We just moved here last June (active duty military reassignment). My fav part of where we live is the sky. Its been a long time since I could see stars from my backyard, having been stationed in a bunch or big cities before. Looking forward to watching meteor showers with Ewok in the years to come. (Downside, small town, news travels fast. Felt like the whole town knew I was pregnant about a week after I told my boss. Also, I've been craving Chipotle, and the nearest one is over an hour away.)

First time mom here, but have 3 furbabies - Bella - 6yo Boxer/JR mix and 2 kitties - Cleo (15yo) & Spencer (14yo)

4. How are you feeling?
Well, since I've been relaxing more this past week, I feel pretty good, I just feel huge! I can't imagine being any bigger than this... but alas there are ~5-6 weeks to go, so I'm sure I will get bigger! Still have some pelvic pain but PT and my compression belt has been helping! I think I finally got the anemia under control, I'm not as tired (maybe b/c I've been sleeping more), but I sure am lazy! My belly feels so big and tight, I feel like I can actually feel the shape of the baby in there (think he's still breech too), but after I eat, I feel icky, maybe eating too much... I haven't learned the art of smaller/more frequent meals yet! Next is to get the constipation under control (thanks to 5 iron pills + prenatal daily)!

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Next OB appt is this Friday and it's with an US - yay! He feels huge, so they'll probably tell me he is... but will be great to see him and confirm if he's still breech. I can't believe I'm getting so close to just a month to go... seems like the pregnancy was taking forever and now here we are nearing the end! I had my birth class this weekend, wow, so much info! I'm nervous about the next few weeks and what I can get done before we head off to the hospital!

I'm in Wake Forest, NC which is about 15 miles north of the state capitol (Raleigh). I've been here for almost half my life -- I moved here when I was 19. I'm originally from North Miami Beach, FL and also lived in Miramar, FL as well. I do miss some things about living in S.FL, like palm trees and quick access to the beach, but what I love about here is the changing of seasons! Our winter has been pretty mild (sorry to all you guys dealing with crazy snowstorms) and our summer seemed pretty mild as well, so far it's been pretty nice. I'm hoping Spring is just around the corner though, as I don't want to have a hard time getting to the hospital next month! I also love that living in central NC, we're just over 2 hours from the beach and about 4 hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains. The pace of life is a bit slower here and very family-oriented, I appreciate that as well.

1 dog Newfoundland, DH has a dog but I don't claim him as mine since he tried to eat my face a few years ago.

4. How are you feeling?

Uncomfortable. Baby is big and I'm getting excited and nervous.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

I've started my 2X weekly testing so spend a lot of time in waiting rooms now. Baby is doing fine. Hematologist created a birthplan for me and gave it to my OB. Baby is breech though so I'll be looking into spinning babies today.

Baltimore, MD. I like that we have all 4 seasons and that I'm close enough to the water to go sailing. I grew up here, moved away for the military but came back when I got out.

LO seems to have dropped on Thursday. It was not subtle. I had tummy ache and had to run to the bathroom. After a short freakout of thinking it was preterm labor, I noticed his feet were no longer at my ribs, but a few inches lower. Other pre-labor symptoms (TMI warning): several bowel movements a day in the last couple of days, sharp twinges in the lower abdomen/pelvis. I still am not able to notice the BH, though. Oh, and I'm tremendously moody and dealing with a stressful but manageable situation on the home front.

My gut is telling me (haha) that LO will arrive around the 37 week mark, but it is my first time around, so maybe I'm clueless and it's just wishful thinking. I've been warned against obsessing about the due date. It's pretty hard not to.

Did you see the news story about the lady in Utah who delivered her baby on the side of the road after attempting to drive herself to the hospital? A part of me wants to deliver like that. Seems to be a no-nonsense way to do it.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

Haven't started my weekly OB appointments yet. Still waiting for GBS results.

Rave: In our almost 6 years of marriage, DH offered to wash the bathrooms for the first time. I know he finds it absolutely disgusting, so I let him off the hook.

Houston, Texas. The people are laid back and awesome, the city itself is a free-for-all which suits us well, and there's plenty of outdoors things to do not far from us.

Not bad. Have been waking up with sore glutes/hips and then prone to getting a back ache in certain chairs.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

Not until next week.

We have parents visiting (both sides) back to back in the next couple weeks, which is making me a little annoyed and grouchy. Lots to do in preparation and I'm anticipating that we'll have to work out the logistics of all the post-delivery visits, which I'm not looking forward to. (along with all the questions about a name that I don't want to answer, unsolicited advice... etc., etc.) But I've been saving a lot of shopping to do with moms, so hopefully it will be productive!

Grew up in the Portland area, now in Phoenix. In a perfect world, we'll be snowbirds as soon as possible.

But for now, I'm happy with the year-round outdoor activities available in Arizona.

None. Would love a dog, but our apartment isn't the best environment. Someday!

4. How are you feeling?

Not too bad. A bit uncomfortable at night and during long walks, but it's not unmanageable. The belly growth spurts are a bit freaky - when you feel your stomach skin stretching. They seem to come every two weeks, last a few days, or so and are quite pronounced for me.

Still battling constipation. Colace helps but I definitely need it...

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

Next appointment is at 28 weeks. I'm trying to figure out whether to switch to the hospital's midwifery practice or stay with the OB practice.

QOTW: Where are you located? What's your favorite part about where you live? Have you always lived there?

Washington, DC. It's a beautiful city, and neither my husband nor I are involved in any of the government-related industries, so we also don't find it very high pressure (except when it comes to the CRAZY drivers). My favourite part is the international nature of the city, and the weather: four seasons with a beautiful spring and fall. I haven't always lived here. This is my seventh country and tenth city, so I've moved around a lot (not sure what I would have done without IKEA and Craigslist to finance my nomadic ways). I've been here since March 2013, but I was also here 2007-2009, so the place seems like home.

I'm in Ohio. My favorite part is that it isn't Canada (no offense to Canadians! I hate the cold). I have lived here for 5 years, going on 6. I've lived all over the place before this. Right before this, I lived in Florida. That was my favorite. February is a cruel annual reminder that I no longer live in Florida. :-(

Tired and achy. I can't believe I have 14 weeks left. Seems both waaaaaayyyyy too long and waaaaaayyyyy too short.

My 28 weeks appt is in 2 weeks. Then the dreaded glucose test. Hoping I don't fail this time. Don't want to have to do the 3 hour.

All most in the 3rd trimester!!!

Rant - I hate people snarky ass comments. If. Wanted your opinion I would ask for it. Humph.

Rave - my DH has been just amazing!!

I'm in Virginia. We have all 4 seasons. Love that. Only been here since 1997. I'm originally from NH. I miss it there dearly.

I'm in New Zealand, and have always lived here. There are so many things I love about this country, but probably am enjoying how accessible the outdoors and countryside are, the most right now.
I hate that we're so far away from everywhere, that international travel is a major expense and hassle.

Okat, except the allergies are kicking in. Ugh. And, of course, I won't take anything. Also have been nervous for the past week as I still haven't felt the baby move and my last dr. appointment was almost a month ago.

Had our anatomy scan today, so I feel much better! Baby looks good. Everything is as it should be. Made me feel a lot better. Fiance was there and this was the first time he saw the ultrasound. He is very excited. Finally decided to share the news on facebook.

I grew up in south Jersey near Philadelphia. Moved to Arizona eight years ago. While I miss all the seasons, I really do love the mild weather and all the outdoor things to do. We do a lot of hiking, which I enjoy.

I almost had my last baby on the kitchen floor. Lol! I did make it to the hospital, that goodness we only live 2-3 minutes away. It was pretty much like you see in the movies, everyone running around like crazy. Lol!

I live in Greensboro, NC. I grew up in the Midwest (Indianapolis, Columbus, St. Louis, Milwaukee) and move to NC in high school. I went to college in Raleigh and moved to Greensboro shortly after. I like it. I wouldn't mind living in a bigger city but am pretty comfortable where I am now. DH is from Vermont and vows never to move up north again, so we'll see.

4. Feeling pretty good. I think LO might have had a growth spurt because I was feeling pretty stretched there for a few days and had some back pain from unconsciously arching. Trying to pay better attention to my posture and incorporate some stretches and poses from prenatal yoga into my daily life.

5. Next prenatal appointment in a couple weeks. I'll be taking the 1-hr oral glucose tolerance test, which I failed with DD, so crossing fingers. I passed the 3-hr with DD but it wasn't fun to take.

QOTW: I live in the Pacific Northwest and I love it. I've been here 15 years. The values of health and environmental awareness and progressiveness align with my own. Mountains and ocean are both an hour away. Plus you can't beat the summers. I was born and raised in Chicago.

4. Feeling ok. Getting bigger so baby is getting in the way and a lot more tired. DS has cold/stomach bug today so that stinks - he has only vomited once today so far and hoping dd doesn't get it too badly, as she's almost guaranteed to get it. Hope I can fend it off

5. This week have 30 wk scan and visit with endocrinologist to review thyroid levels.
QOTW: I live outside NYC for 3 years, 3 years in Manhattan before that, and lived in London and Chicago before that. I grew up in Milwaukee and stayed until after college. I like it well enough here, but suburban life is taking some getting used to.

I had my last baby on the bathroom floor and Dh caught her. Ambulance service arrived as she was head out.
By the time I realised baby was coming NOW it was absolutely too late to go anywhere, she was born 5 contractions later, and some of those were me trying really hard not to push.

Part of me thinks it was super cool, other parts of me found it really stressful.

Given the options of "super fast on the side of the road" and "long and laborious at the hospital", I'd pick the side of the road every time.

I live in the beautiful Austin, Texas! I love how 'weird' it is here! I've lived in Texas my whole life and in several different cities...Austin is by far the most beautiful (although I could do without all the allergens)! @NeonNoon - I am originally from Beaumont and have several family members in Houston too!

@katelouise Wow! That is crazy! I just keep thinking will the one I am getting ready to have in a few weeks come even faster?!??!! I knew I was in labor with my last baby, but it was not to terrible. Then all of a sudden BAM!! I knew she was there! I could not hardly walk and was on the kitchen floor trying to make it out the door. My hubby was freaking out!! Ok, I was too!! I should have left sooner, but I do the natural drug free birth thing. So I just wanted to stay at home and labor for the most of it. I kept waiting for it to be like it was with my other 2, but it was not! I think I must have went from 4 centimeters to 10 in like 5 minutes. Lol! Yep, when I got to the hospital and they said her head was right there and not to push. I was like really!!!!! Lol!! They where all running around trying to get everything ready and waiting for a Dr! It was nutty, but I would take that over a long labor any day!! My first was 13 hours with Pitocin. That stuff sucks if you are trying to go without pain meds!! It makes it so much worse...

I'm a FTM but I have three stepchildren (all in college) and two rescues, Tilly and Peabody. Tilly is a shepherd mix and Peabody is a blue-nose Pitbull. I haven't been feeling well and I believe Peabody knows something is going on - he follows me everywhere and rarely lets me out of his sight. He's been stalking me!

4. How are you feeling?

I have OCD tendencies and find myself doing strenuous work to prepare for the baby - and I know I can just wait for my husband to get home from work to do the heavy lifting! When I push myself too far, I feel awful and have to take it easy the next day. Not sure when I will learn to work/prepare in moderation!

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

My GBS test is coming up - definitely not looking forward to that! I no longer feel like my body is "mine". It's a strange feeling.

I recently moved to Malibu, CA and absolutely love it here. I'm a warm weather kind of person and am grateful that I've enjoyed sunny, 70-75 degree weather almost every day since I've moved here. I love living by the water; it has a calming effect. The people here are also very friendly and welcoming. Previously, I lived in Louisville, KY (3 years) and Cincinnati, OH (35 years). I really miss my family back in Cincinnati!

i nearly had a baby on the side of the road, too. It was my 5th one. I went into labor at like midnight. My husband said "ok well I am going to bed..don't do anything to wake me up until its time to go to the hospital"! So I stayed up and paced the floor (i like walking in labor) and woke him and said it was DEFINITELY time to go. I sort of had an urge to pee. When I sat on the toilet, however, I felt the baby nearly slide out of me. It was like a noticeable drop down. So I went to tell my husband we must leave NOW...the hospital is like 15 miles away...and there is nothing on the way but country roads....well he is in the shower and tells me he is going to shower and SHAVE before we leave. Contractions are non stop and I know its the end. He's slowly showering. Finally he gets out and is debating what he should wear. I said I was driving myself and went to walk out to the vehicle...however I had one (final )really hard long contraction that stopped me in my tracks on the porch. He made it outside and we left. We got about 1/2 mile down the road and I said "I have to push..." He said "that is not an option now. DOn't you DARE!!!!!!!) and then the sound of massive acceleration.

WOuldn't you know, we get pulled over by a state trouper after a bit. I had my eyes closed concentrating on NOT pushing and noticed we were slowing down...there are no lights or stop signs so I was wondering what was up. Open my eyes to see flashing lights. We were speeding. I told my husband I could not sit there waiting. He tried to holler out his window that it was an emergency but the trooper was like still running our plates or whatever...and started screaming at my husband to get all the way back in the vehicle. My husband starts beeping the horn which gets the troopers gun pulled out. he approaches the car and asks my husband what his issue is. He points to me and says "she's is in labor and ready to push" . At this point I am crying because I can not stand not to push any longer and I want to go and this trooper has this massive light pointing into our vehicle to blind us. I started begging "please please I have to go..." well the trooper starts this lecture..."why didn't you call an ambulance if it was an emergency....etc"

My husband tried to explain that ambulances come from further away then the hospital...so we would have to wait for an ambulance...it would be faster to get there ourselves. Well after the trooper takes his hat off, scratches his head some....shines more light all over me...says "ok well i guess you can go...but slow down" No escort or anything. He went the other way my husband continued to speed.

Well arrival at the hospital was major chaotic. It just happened to be shift change so they had double staff there right then which was good because its a dinky hospital and normal staff is small. There were people getting my clothes off, trying to put IV's in , getting all sorts of stuff out and ready...and boom..in the midst of it the baby came out!

I don't recommend this sort of delivery! It was really sort of panicy and scarey! Not pushing for so long caused my baby to have meconium at birth so suction was necessary...had she been born in the vehicle that would not be available. Everyone's panic in the hospital was unnerving.

Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?

2. Age at delivery? (optional) 42

3. Any other children? Furbabies? 7 children, yes I birthed them all

4. How are you feeling? My back is finally pretty much better. I have been feeling good but have so much work because I spent days doing nothing with my back! A couple of the children have outgrown their clothing size and needed sizes switched out so I have been doing that (i keep outgrown clothes and pass them to the next child). Also, the beggining of the year (like Jan 1) our hot water tank blew and ran all night flooding the room which was a finished basement area. It turned to mold even though a restoration service was working on drying it out. So the carpet had to be stripped out to the concrete and the drywall all had to go as well! Back to completely unfinished. The refinishing remodel just got done so everything had to be moved back in and organized. It was playroom, my husband's office and an area that has the furnace, extra refrigerator (we need 2 as big as they sell fridges!) and storage area. So lots of work.

I have an extra child living with us this week. She is a teenager so not like tons of work but there is more...more food to prepare more dishes to do, more laundry etc. Plus we have to drive her to and from school which is over a half hour away. Her family went away and she couldn't miss that much school so she is with us.

5. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? rant: My ultrasound stunk! She spent like one full minute on it. I got one photo of a spine! She checked my cervix on it, measured the baby's leg length, head circumference and belly circumference. THen put it over the heart to measure heartbeat. At that time the spine became real visible so she snapped that. I never got to see face or anything. I guess since I did the chromozone testing she felt she didn;t need to do much? The dr herself does the ultrasounds.

Rant: I gained 3 lbs over the month from appt to appt. I have been tracking all my calories, carbs etc. I eat not more than 1200 calories and not more than 130 carbs a day. No sugar no refined white stuff. My other pregnancies I was not strict ate whatever I wanted...I checked and in my last pregnancy I gained 4 lbs during the same time period in pregnancy over the month. Darn it! Why even limit and be strict then??? I was hoping to try to have a normal size baby this time and thought I would try strict diet esp carb intake to see if it helped. I also wanted to gain less weight overall. WHen I am pregnant my body just sucks up weight!

@cneiding That's a crazy story (and well told)! I was on the edge of my seat reading it. I can't believe the trooper!! (Or your husband debating his clothing options, lol).

No and no. This is our first baby.

4. How are you feeling?

Nauseous, beyond exhausted, sore boobs, constantly hungry...and I've never been happier.

my husband has been upset since that day that he did not get the police escort he has always wanted. I also left out the part that when we got to the hopsital it was after hours so we could not go through the regular entrance and had to enter through ER. When we walked it I made it very clear I was having a baby at that moment. Well the person at the desk calls for a "transport" which translates to ... she paged the 98 year old retired man volunteer who pushes people in wheelchairs. I kept telling her I really could not wait. After a few seconds that felt like forever...I finally got a bit agitated and said "ok this is ridiculous...I can not wait...I need to go NOW" so she said "ok I will start walking you down that way maybe we will pass transport on our way." We didn't pass transport which is fine I don't think I could have sat at that point.

I have pretty much a funny that may or may not have been funny at that moment story for pretty much all my labors and deliveries! I have a real knack for having the unusual happen!
