Well it's been a long couple of days but we made it! And here's the story.
Tuesday I woke up to some pink discharge. Great!! Had appt that same day, 1 cm. Slow start, but it's a start. Late that evening, I started with the pre labor contractions.
Wednesday all day, the contractions increased. They were tolerable. I knew my body was prepping and we couldn't wait!
Now comes Wednesday evening. Boy I'm hurting. So we go to L&D, and I'm only 2 cm. 2?!? With all that pain?? Ok fine I'll tough it out.
Thursday was much worse. So we went to L&D a total of 4 times Thursday, that's how bad I was. And by this point I've had no sleep since the night before. Long story short, at 3 cm, I get admitted to my room, given morphine, and finally drifted off into sleep without feeling those contractions. Woke up around 7 am Friday, and was 6 cm.
My real active labor contractions didn't start until 1, and I thought I knew pain before? I couldn't deal with it. I had to get the epidural. The bouncy ball and hot showers didn't cut it. Neither did this one medicine which I don't even recall its name. Thankfully my scoliosis and kyphosis didn't prevent me from getting my epidural. Fast forward to 4, more epidural, and pitocin to get me going, I'm finally at 10cm
Two hours of pushing, labial tears and a hemoglobin to end with, we got our baby girl Madeline! 6 lbs, 15 oz. born feb 6. What a blessing!! Worth every pain. (born at 39+4)
