How would you pronounce this NN?

I don't even know yet if i am expecting a boy or girl but my dh and i just started chatting names. There are only a handful we agree on. For girls we like Evelyn, which was my grandmothers name.

However, I prefer to use the NN Evie. I wonder how you all would say it.

I would think Ev- E but i have heard people pronounce it E-Vee.

My grandmother always went by and my grandfather always called her ev-e but she always spelled it Eve, she even had a ring with EVE on it.

Our other thoughts for a name are adele after my grandmothers sister (who was adelina) but i'm not sure if that is getting very popular now.

I have heard it both ways so I would take the parents lead. We almost named DS2 Evelyn nn Eh-Vee. DS has a girl in his class that goes by Ee-Vee (short for Evangeline).

thanks for the help - looks like its a split decision! SO i guess we'd take the lead on how we'd want to pronounce it, i am partial to honoring my grandma with ev-vee....but i am sure people will say it either way.
