Hi Ladies.

Time for another check-in!

1. How many weeks are you (what fruit/veggie) this week?

2. How are you feeling? Any surprising feelings?

3. Any appointments/investigations/results for this week?

4. GTKY: What is your biggest fear related to how life may change with baby (or by adding another baby to the mix)?

    1. How many weeks are you (what fruit/veggie) this week? 22w2d (ticker is wrong), this week babe's a Papaya!

    2. How are you feeling? Any surprising feelings? I've been pretty tired this week. DS has a cold and I think I may be getting a bit of one too. I've been surprisingly excited about baby this week. I keep trying to imagine what kind of big brother DS is going to be.

    3. Any appointments/investigations/results for this week? I have a prenatal app tomorrow, I have to remember to ask about my OB consult (re: attempting a VBAC). I'll also be reviewing the results of my A/S.

    4. GTKY: What is your biggest fear related to how life may change with baby (or by adding another baby to the mix)? I'm really nervous about ending up with a repeat c-section, not because of the c-section itself, but not being able to pick up DS for several weeks after. It breaks my heart just thinking about the possibility. I'm getting more comfortable with the idea of having 2, but some days I panic about not having enough hands.

  • 1. How many weeks are you (what fruit/veggie) this week? 21 Weeks and baby is size of a cantaloupe

    2. How are you feeling? Any surprising feelings? I'm feeling pretty good just some heartburn every once and awhile.

    3. Any appointments/investigations/results for this week? Found out were having a baby boy!

    4. GTKY: What is your biggest fear related to how life may change with baby (or by adding another baby to the mix)? How the little girl who has down syndrome that we have adopted/fostered will react to having to share her mommy and daddy time.
  • 1. How many weeks are you (what fruit/veggie) this week?

    22 weeks 6 days, still a papaya!

    2. How are you feeling? Any surprising feelings?

Just super hungry and stressed out.

    3. Any appointments/investigations/results for this week?

    Nope, next week!

    4. GTKY: What is your biggest fear related to how life may change with baby (or by adding another baby to the mix)?

The only thing I'm worried about is finances. I don't qualify for paid maternity, but my husband and I agree that being a SAHM is best for our family. Worried about being able to afford this.

I worry about our DS adjusting as well! Fingers crossed that it's a smooth-ish transition for both our families! Also, that's awesome that you guys have also fostered/adopted, DH and I hope to do the same someday :)

I'm a SAHM as well. We made this decision partially because I was just out of grad school when I found out I was pregnant and I hadn't had the chance to work, so no paid mat leave for me either. We've made it work so far (DS will be 2 in March), but it's been tough at times with DS just finishing up med school and now on a resident's salary. Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel for us once DH is done residency, but we've been getting lots of support from family who live in the area.

I also hope to re-join either academia or the workforce once this LO is a year or so!

  • I am 20 weeks today so a banana!
I am feeling pretty good. Baby is active and healthy so no complaints here. Started taking some extra Iron and Vitamin D as per my doctor and my energy has really perked up.
We had our 18-20 week ultrasound and found out he's a boy! We are so excited! He's also perfect and measuring a tiny bit bigger. Ultrasound says he is nearly a pound already!
I'm not really sure I have any fears for afterwards. I'm a PGAL mama though so my fears right now are rooted in this pregnancy, however it's getting easier and easier each day. We have two other children but I think they will adjust okay.
