February 2015 Moms

More nervous than ready

I feel like my pregnancy went by really quick and although I'm "prepared" and have everything in order I don't feel entirely ready mentally!!! I think I'm having trouble rapping my head around the fact that I'm going to have my own child. I'm also very nervous about going through labor!

I also have bursts of excitement about meeting her and have always wanted to be a mom but is anyone else experiencing this!?

I feel like everyone else at 39 weeks is so ready for the pregnancy to be over and to get the baby out and be a great momma!

Thanks

  • I'm nervous too! I think most new moms are. I just try not to focus on it to much, but it does hit me sometimes. When I get nervous about it I tend to focus on weird, trival things, like what pillow we need for the stroller or something else really silly...

I just figure that when it finally happens I won't have a choice about and it will just happen. And then I'll be a mom.

  • This is my second and I'm terrified as well! I know what to expect and that makes me nervous! I will have 2 under 2 only being 18 months apart and I'm terrified of that!
  • This post made me cry because it hits so close to home with me. Hang in there! You're not alone and you've got this.
  • I feel the same way :( ahh @usmcwife89‌ that made me feel better & congrats!
  • I'm anxious because I am almost to the point in this pregnancy when DD came. So I'm over here thinking "what if my water breaks here today" everywhere I go. It's a bit maddening.

  • I'm just like you. I try not to focus to much. It's still seems weird and surreal. I just tell myself take each moment at a time. Before I know it. It'll be a memory.
  • I'm scared. But so excited at the same time. It's like every emotion all at once. Today I took an hour and wrote my LO a letter. I'm not sure when I'll have him read it, definitely when he's at least a teenager I guess. But I had all these emotions running through me and I wanted him to know, years later, how badly I wanted him. Among a thousand other things. It really calmed my nerves.

  • This is my first and I feel EXACTLY like you do...when I was younger I could barely put a diaper on my cabbage patch kids, and now I'm going to be doing it to a real person in less than 3 weeks! LoL...I try not to focus on all my crazy feelings/emotions though as well...don't stress yourself out over this, you can totally do it!! :)

This is me exactly ... And terrified, too!
  • Completely terrified here as well! I think it's more the anxiety of not knowing when my LO will be here that's really getting to me. I keep telling myself women go through this every day and that seems to calm my nerves most of the time.
