  I agree that Nathan is too similar to Ethan, although if he only ever went as Nate, then that seems fine to me.

  Nate doesn't sound like Ethan but Nathan does. You picked some good, classic names for your kids! Nameberry.com has been a great resource for me. You can plug in your kids' names and it'll generate a list of similar style names.
  
  When I typed in Nathan, some similar names that came up were:

  Thanks for the suggestions ladies!  We are not due until August so we have plenty of time but it took us forever to pick out names for our other two boys so I thought we should start now!

  DH is obsessed with the name "Samson" right now. I immediately vetoed it but since that's what he's using to refer to the baby, it's starting to grow on me  :-/
