Tomorrow a friend is having a get-together at 3:30 - we were thrilled as it's a baby-friendly timeframe so we can go! Things starting at 7 p.m. are no longer in our worldview...

Sunday we are hosting a get-together for our neighborhood's Buy Nothing Group. I'm happy to do it but a little nervous too! Neighbors are like family, not always people you'd necessarily 'choose' - but so far, everyone seems nice. Last month we attended and it was fun, but of course we could just leave when we were over it. This time, well, we're in it for the duration! I'm aiming to make King Cake for the first time (in honor of Mardi Gras, and my southern wife).

QOTW: Hm.... I went out with friend a few weeks ago to a new place in Seattle and had this amazing chicken... https://statesideseattle.com/menu.shtml - other than that we're mostly weight-watchin' at home, so nothing too riveting.

    Hey hey

Let's see, I think tonight is going to be pretty low key. I have chicken masala in the crock pot for dinner. At some point we are going to go bowling for a friend's birthday. We'll see what M thinks of that...

We also need to go run to pick up some clothes for J from someone and hopefully head up to my dad's either Sat or Sun to work on our table. I need to go get new contacts and glasses...but I doubt that will make the agenda. It'd be nice, but we need down family time on the weekends or J and I both feel pretty bad and it has a pretty negative impact on our little family.

Hmmm our eating has been pretty crappy lately (lots of pizza and take out). I made shepherd's pie on monday night though and that was pretty good. I'm excited to try the chicken masala tonight. It was super easy to make so if it's good, we can make it one of our easy go to meals.

L is getting over the flu so I think she is going to mostly hang at home and rest/catch up on work since she has been in bed all week. I'll take the kids to soccer, do a Costco run, and take them to church and a Sunday School potluck.  We are supposed to have Parents Night Out, but it will depend on how L feels. The weather is supposed to be nice on Sunday so I am hoping to get the kids out of the house for a lot of play time. :)

QOTD: Last Friday night: horseradish crusted filet with creamed spinach and 2 glasses of red wine. Followed by coconut chocolate chip pecan pie. OMG.

Tomorrow we are getting our taxes done and then having a quick bite and some catch up with some friends of ours who had a baby in Oct.  I'm planning on sharing our news on Moka with them.

Sunday is a big day for Rudy and his mommies.  He's getting his first haircut.  He needs one badly, but I held out till his birthday month.  After that maybe Ikea for that elusive high chair I need.  It was out of stock last week, but for $9 more, I could have had it shipped to my house.  I'm so cheap, I'd rather spend the 2 hours there and back and fight the crowds to save the money!

Tonight - I'm not sure. The weather is terrible (rainstorms) so we'll probably stay in and make dinner. EV's brother may stop over.

Saturday -  We're paying a friend to babysit and heading out for about 4 hours to a baby shower.  It's always crazy how expensive babysitting is and we're paying less than the $20 going rate!  But I am looking forward to some kid-free time nonetheless.  We're hoping we can squeeze in some time for a stop over at a coffee shop or something just for us.

Sunday - is completely open. I'd like to do some kid-friendly fun activity, playcenter, discovery museum, etc. But we'll see.

I'll start out by saying tonight I came home to candy cane wrappers all over the house because my lovely dogs decided to eat an entire cup of candy canes today.  I also officially heard back from the state licensing board and passed my Hearing Instrument Specialist state licensing exam!!

Tomorrow is my last day working in the hearing aid center because we book so far out with appointments that they didn't want to have to reschedule all my appointments if/when I go into labor.   R may meet me at work and we may buy some items to stock up on before baby arrives as well as pick up a deep freezer.

Sunday I am off all day.  It is my best friends 30th so weather permitting I am going to try to meet up with her.  I also may just stay home all day relax and get some cleaning done.  I feel like this little one could come anytime now.  I found out on Wednesday that I am slightly dilated and her head is engaged so hopefully I'll get to meet her soon.

I am out of state at a speech and debate tournament with 18 children.  I'll be home sometime in the wee hours of Tuesday.  I'm already exhausted.

QOTW: Well, I just had some Chipotle, and I was really hungry and it was pretty damn delicious.  Probably I've had something more delicious in the past few weeks, but I can't think of anything.  :-)
