Male OB question

so don't judge but today I was at my appointment and I have a male OB, he is young probably 30's, attractive, and was super helpful, but after words I started thinking about what would it really be like to be married to an OB, would he become desensitized to my vagina and never want to get it on? Would I be just abother medical vagina , sorry I know it's weird , my husband works construction so he is around guys all day , I just couldn't help but wonder lol! Is anyone married to or dated and OB?

Re: Male OB question

  • Lol, I have seriously asked my husband the same questions! He's not an OB, but I wondered the same thing out loud to him

  • In the same way bankers, cashiers. .ect stop seeing the money they handle as cash but just a part of the job, OBs just see the task at hand and not the aspect thay would think if in their private life.
  • It isn't the same at all. I am a nurse and I see penises and vaginas all day and I never think of the genitalia I see at work as sexual. It also hasn't affected the way I view my husband's genitalia
  • My husband is a physician (radiation oncologist, not OB), but he regularly spends his days doing pelvic exams and breast exams when following up on patients, and I can tell you PP is on the money.  He literally sees it as part of the job and not at all in the same way he would look at me at home.  And no, spending his days seeing those private parts of people has not desensitized him to me/wanting to get it on (though granted, his patient roster is significantly older in age than a typical OB patient roster.  But I'm sure even if the majority of his patients were younger rather than older, it'd still be the same thing.)
  • My OB is male too, and I'm pretty sure it isn't affecting his marriage. He has like a bagillion kids :p

  • I have always thought the same thing haha
