I think it depends whether or not you live in a cold climate. As a Canadian with cold winters I wouldn't risk it, babies don't thaw here. However, if I lived somewhere warm and tropical I would live a little more dangerously. But ice cream makes my ass jiggle for a week anyway, so what do I know. Also, I notice you asking only about cold ice cream, have you had success with warm ice cream?
Is it okay to eat cold ice cream? Will it freeze the baby?
I feel very led on with this question. Is this real or is it a ploy to get regs to post?
My answer is:
My doctor provided me with a list of foods to avoid during pregnancy. I've cream was not on the list. Unless the ice cream is capable of freezing you, then your baby will not freeze.

Once, on a crappy cruise, we were served "chilled strawberry soup" with our meal. I am 130% certain it was melted ice cream.

That just sounds so wrong on every level. But more importantly, did you eat it and was it good?

It was delicious. I was thirteen years old, so it was sort of like an "old enough to know better but still too young to care" type situation.
