CCT- Casual Chat Thread

Thought it would be fun to have a place to just talk about whatever and get to know each other without fighting about names, circumcisions or vaccines!!

On my local trade site on FB today, someone was selling a child harness!! X_X
  • Loading the player...
  • Like the kind that are backpacks with a tether?
At least the kid can carry their own junk around that way! But you aren't fooling me; your kid is on a leash!

  • Why don't posts from EZBreezY show up? It shows she posted on the main board but then there is nothing here. I was hoping to hear how her cat has a backpack!
  • Haha I def don't leash. I believe in attachment parenting, so I still wear DS most of the time. I think the harnesses with the leashes are horrible. Its a child, not a dog!

@EZbreezY90‌ do you walk your cat on a leash or do you wear him?

  • I was home with dd who had to stay home due to an ear infection and eye discharge and while it was very challenging because she wasn't feeling well I will really is being home with her tomorrow :((
  • How old is your DD?
  • Believe me though, I used to side eye parents who used them before I became a mother myself.

This is me too. I don't think I would ever personally use one but when we went to sea world on Saturday I found myself wishing for one at times! And of course I have no idea what having two will be like...I might end up needing one anyway.

  • I couldn't watch The Walking Dead - it was too bloody for me!
Baby #1 on the way due 10-4-15!
Married to my honey since 6-11-11 <3

  • Love The Walking Dead but don't have cable right now. We rely on Netflix to watch. Haha!

On my last birth month board certain days were designated for certain topics I guess. Like one was a get to know you, one was flame free Friday confession (which wasn't always flame free) I can't remember any of the others. I joined the board late last time so idk if that's something that comes a little later or what but I think it would be fun! It keeps the boarders active I think.

We did that, I like it. It was always a lot of fun.
We had Bitch and Moan Monday.
    Twatwaffle and tacos Tuesday.
    WTF Wednesday.
    Thankful Thursday.
Flame free Friday confessions. (Rarely flame free! Lol)
On the weekends you told what you were up to. Don't remember what we called it though.
We also had Hump day/bump day where you took a pic of you bump, but we stopped when another board had a troll that had been with them since the beginning! Creepy.

Ditto. There are lots of things I used to side-eye before becoming a mom.

  • I don't think I can deal with 8 more months of this puffy vag shit. I'm to get an ice pack.

I like the idea of keeping active- I'm sure we could all use the distractions!

My mom used to have one that went around my little brother's wrist and attached to her wrist- he was a runner! Lol
  • Anyone else stoked for The Walking Dead this Sunday?

    Yes!!
  • I love fffc. I bet with the I **interesting group** it'll be highly entertaining.
  • I swore I'd never put my kid on a "leash," but my toddler is a runner, and I worry about him getting hit by a car in the parking lot at church when he tired of holding my hand. Fortunately he has gotten better about holding my hand when we're out and about and I don't have the Ergo or stroller, but I'm still thinking of getting him a little backpack with a tether. That way he can walk and carry his own extra diaper and sippy cup, but I have a way to keep him from running into traffic. Those strike me a little differently than a wrist strap or harness that's not also a backpack.

BTW, I'm a huge fan of babywearing, but if doesn't always work when you're dealing with a very independent 30-lb toddler. As a result, our Ergo currently gets the most use when little man wants to be held while I'm trying to cook or wash dishes.

That was me too, now we have a "harness" and everyone can side eye all they want. I also now enjoy watching others eat their words when they become parents and do something they once judged others for.

I'd much rather see a kid on a leash than in and accident. Do your thing!

@Jessalicious01‌ LOVE scandal with 2 kids, husband, and full time job it is the only show I have stayed up to date on. That used to be Grey's anatomy but it got kicked to the curb for scandal:)
  • I love Scandal, also. Not gonna lie...I chose Fitzgerald for this baby's name just bc of that show!
  • I hope I'm still awake by the time Walking Dead is on...
