Baby is coming tonight!

Went in for my 37 week appointment at 830 this morning and my amniotic fluid was too low. I was immediately sent to L&D. The on call OB in L&D made the decision to break my water and start pitocin. I feel like I didn't have a say in anything. I really didn't want to be induced. BUT I am at peace with it because the health of my child is at risk. It's been two hours, I got an epidural and I'm 5 cm dilated. Just a waiting game now. I will update as I can!

I am seriously so scared and nervous.

Probably a stupid question, but, how do they tell if your fluid is low? I see this a lot and always wonder.

I was getting weekly ultrasounds and they somehow measured the fluid pockets they would see. Then there's some mathematical (I think) system that they use to calculate the amount of fluid. That's probably a horrible explanation, but I hope you can understand

They measure through an ultrasound the measure the amount of fluid between baby and the amniotic sac. It's all on the u/s machine so just when it measures CRL of an embryo it does the same to measure amniotic fluid in centimeters.
