Cystic Fibrosis Screening

I had the Cystic Fibrosis Screening done and found out that I am a carrier of the gene. If hubby is also a carrier we have a 25% chance that our baby will actually have the disease. I would like for him to get tested to see if he is a carrier as well. Does anyone know if insurance will cover this test for the father of the baby? My insurance paid for my test but I'm just curious if his insurance should cover the test for him?

    Everyone's insurance is different, your best bet is to check with your insurance provider. Or you doctor's office may even be able to check for you. 

    I'm sure the positive screen must have made you nervous, but hopefully your husband's screening provides reassurance. Good luck!

    I had the same circumstance a few months back and mine did cover my hubby's test but I would double check. If they don't cover it, my husbands bill broke down to about $90 for the total but, again, that could be different too. Good luck, I'm a carrier too so I know how nerve wracking it can be!
