Re: Shower Check In & Registry

  • 1. STM due may 10th
    2. Didn't want a shower cause I really don't need anything and don't want all the fuss but my best friend is insisting on throwing me one. It's very sweet so keeping it small.
    3. Going Friday to register. Probably buy buy baby or babies r us? Not sure if I'm going to put anything but diapers on it
  • Loading the player...
  • 1. FTM due May 25th
    2. My shower is March 21 back in our home town :)
    3. I registered at target. Ended up doing it online because going to the store wasn't as much fun as I expected. Too many choices and too overwhelming! Lol
  • 1.Ftm due May 28
    2. I have one shower from my husbands family in sc the end of March, one from his extended family in PA beginning of April, one from my co-workers the end of April, and my family hasn't said anything but that will make another in PA at some point. I'm extremely thankful but very nervous to be traveling so so much.
    3. We registered at babies r us, and used MyRegistry for things babies r us didn't have, then made a registry at target that only we know about for the completion coupon in case we use the babies r us one and need last minute stuff. I think I was trying to over prepare but ended up overwhelming us. Haha oops
  • 1. STM due May 21
    2. No shower - declining offers because I dont need anything and I would feel uncomfortable getting gifts
    3. No registry

    Boring :-(
  • 1. FTM. Baby girl is due May 20th
    2. Two showers b/c I live far away from most family/friends. New friend is doing the pre baby shower April 11. Best friend at home will give me a welcome baby shower when we take baby to visit when dr says she can travel. Hoping that'll be this summer.
    3. Registry at Babies R Us and at Buy Buy Baby. Considering one at Amazon for baby books as the shower I attended last year had everyone giving multiple copies of four popular books. I love the idea of books in lieu of cards, but not 5 "runaway bunny" books.
  • Have you ladies tried babies list? I am really enjoying it..It makes it so when you are searching around online at stores and you see something you like you just click a bookmark and it adds it. Then when people go to the website it tells them all the stores and the prices so if a certain store has a deal when they go it will be cheaper! They also just sent me 75 of those little cards that you can put in your invites for free
  • 1.)  FTM; Due May 3rd
2.)  I am being thrown two showers one by my side of the family/friends in Texas and another by DH's side of the family/friends in New Orleans.
3.)  I registered at Target and Babies R' Us. I did it all online because I tried doing it in store with my wedding shower and it was pretty overwhelming. I like that I can read the reviews as I add things online.
  • 1) 6th baby
    2) Not having a shower. Gave everything away since my last child was almost 6yrs ago. This little LO was a surprise! We just planned to get everything ourselves since it's our 4th ( my 6th)
    3) I did make a registry at Target for private use so that as I buy it I can check it off the list. No one knows I have it except my mom and sister who asked because they want to mail me a gift for the baby.

    1. FTM due May 27th
    2. Three showers (one w/friends is beginning of April; one with family is end of March; work one is middle of March)
    3. We registered at Target, but we've only got the basics on there so far after doing a ridiculous amount of research on the car seat, stroller and high chair options. It's a little exhausting.
  • 1.) I am a FTM, due May 15
2.) My MIL is hosting a shower on March 21. I'm afraid it's going to be way bigger than I wanted and 80% in law family I haven't met yet! Eek.
3.) Registered at BRU and Amazon. Boy has it been a lot of work and online research. Still not completed.
  • 1. Ftm due May 18
    2. Not having a shower, planning a welcome baby party 2 weeks after the baby is born
    3. Registered at BBB

Just a side note, be very careful when sharing your registries and adding links on this site. When we click the links we can access your full names and location and can be very dangerous

Can you see full names on either of the links provided?  I just see first names, but maybe I'm missing it somewhere.

    FTM, due May 6th

2.)  Are you having a shower?  When is the shower?
I am having a work shower March 5th and a regular shower March 28th.

3.)  Do you have a registry?  Dare to share?
My registry (Baby R Us) is quite small, because I have bought most everything myself. I am a huge bargain hunter, so when I saw great deals I snapped it up. What's left is a 2nd stroller (umbrella), rock and play, organic crib mattress, bibs, breast pump accessories, a sleep sack, swaddle blankets, a boppy newborn lounger, a sound machine, first aid kit and lots of boring smaller items.

Actually it's very simple. I can advance search targets registry put in your first name and city and your due date which you supplied and I now can see you and your spouses full name and email address. It's that easy to get personal information now a days. Just be careful who you share information with. This is a public site and we are strangers. Just trying to help!

Thanks!  I found on the reverse search where the last name could be found, but I didn't find anything on the email address (I know you can reverse search using it if you already have it, but it didn't show up on anything when I did a search on a few different registries I know of.)  But either way, duly noted.
  • 1.)  FTM, due May 29.

2.)  We're having 3 showers -- 1 in Illinois w/ DH's family on Feb 21 hosted by my MIL; 1 in Pennsylvania w/ my family on April 4 hosted by my sister; and a small brunch in New York City for local friends and work colleagues, date TBD, hosted by a friend.

    3.) We’re registered at Babies R Us.

QUESTION to add to this thread: How many items are you registered for? I ask because it feels like we have A LOT on our registry — about 70 items. It’s really wide-ranging, prices start at $3.99, and there are just 5 items over $100. I asked a lot of fellow mom’s for registry advice, and tried to make really smart choices. We also certainly don’t expect to get it all, and will purchase any leftover essentials ourselves. But I’m still not sure if it seems like a little much. Thoughts?

  • 1. First time mum

    2. No, they're not too popular in the UK and I'm worried family/friends will think I'm just asking for presents? I'll host a meet-the-baby event after birth. They'll know the sex then and can go wild!!

    3. See above. We have got most of the things we need now, so nursery is close to being finished! :)
  • 1.) FTM. My due date has changed so many times I don't know anymore. My range is May 2-20. (Frustrating)
2.) First shower is next weekend (just with close family). Second shower will be after baby is here (probably June or July). We are team green so I'm anticipating we will get necessities at first shower and mainly clothing and toys at the second one.
3.) We are registered at babies r us.

@kateamart‌ - we have about 60 items on our registry. So similar to you. I would rather have too much than too little personally because I hate shopping for other people who have nothing on their registry. As long as you have a range of prices and don't expect to get everything, you're good in my books!
  • 1. FTM, due date May 25th.
    2. Baby shower will be Feb 21st.
    3. Registered at Amazon

I have a lot of stuff on my list too, because some people may want to get 5 little things under $5 each, and some may want to get something bigger. I wanted there to be plenty of options there, since every budget is different, and I didn't want anyone who gets online at the last minute to feel like they don't have any options left. I've been in that situation and ended up just getting bath soaps and such for the momma, because I didn't know what else she needed and couldn't afford the last item on her list.. a changing table..

  • STM. I didn't have a shower with first due to a passing, but didn't want one at all this time. My aunt insisted, but instead of "shower" we are making a family bowling/pool night out at our bowling alley. I'm sure some will bring gifts, but I don't want anything as this will be our second girl and already have everything. Not registered, and don't need to. Unless if I see a free gift card offer for starting one.
