My husband was home for only 10 days (and won't be back before the birth) so we already took them. I was 24 weeks. If he would have been home I would have done them at 31-32 weeks. I am still very happy with them though!

If I have already not said it, Thank you to your husband for his service! I am sorry he will be missing the birth. Wishing you a easy and safe delivery! Also thank you for the sacrifices you make as well in sharing your husband to protect us and our country!
I assume he is military since you said 10 days home and gone again. My BIL and Uncle are military.
I'm taking mine at 33 weeks! Everything I read said it was best to take them between 32 to 35 weeks so you can capture the size of you're bump but not too late to where you might feel gross or overly tired.
I'm not. Couldn't think of anything worse. I will take one of me - fully clothed - before I give birth just to say I was actually pregnant lol!
Yeah, same here. This is just one thing I know I don't need professional pics of! I've been taking a few (clothed) during my entire pregnancy but nothing fancy!
I'm not terribly interested in maternity photos. I'm a big girl in general, plus I'm having a pretty shitty time being pregnant anyway. I don't think that they have a "suitable" place in the hospital for such things! I'm super interested in a newborn photo-shoot, though. I think I would LOVE those! Seeing picture of dads holding their kids in one arm (like, head in the palm, body draped over the forearm) is SO CUTE!
Now a newborn photo shoot (without me in it) is totally up my street. They're so expensive though - £200 odd! Not sure we can stretch to that with a new baby. Pff.
blankenbakerhthank you! Yes he is a Marine. Its bitter sweet, I hate having him miss this, but I know its for a good reason.
My DH was gone for DD, he was Army. Will your husband be able to try to make it to the birth? My DH made it 50 minutes before DD was born.
He could potentially, if I had a very long labor or went way over my due date. The plan is I will call him when I know I am going into labor, and he will tell his command and head to the airport right away (then 6-10 hour flight). This is obviously the ideal, and we have no clue how this actually will work. Both of the people he talked to said this wouldn't be a problem leaving right away, but he hasn't talked to the people who will be in charge then (because he will be changing locations in March). So its really up in the air as of now. Everyone in my family has given birth about 3 weeks early, and my mom's births were both about 3 hours long, and DH's mom has all of her kids in 2-4 hours. So who knows, if I continue that trend there is no way he will make it.
We are aiming for around 33 weeks. I wasn't planning on getting them but found a photographer I really like for newborn photos and she has a great 'bump and baby package' so we will try it out. Mainly to get proof I was pregnant (I'm always the one behind the camera) and get a couple with the kids
I set mine up for 31 weeks. My photographer suggested to do them close to that time since you're big enough at that point, but not feeling grossly huge
We're just doing a few nice outside/sunset pics- nothing cheesy or naked, haha..
We are having ours done at 31 weeks. We will also have newborn (in the hospital) pictures and then a week later newborn pictures in our home. It was a really good package from a local photographer. We like her work and she was available, so we booked it!
