41 Weeks today!!

Going in for an ultrasound, NST, and an exam at 8:40am to see how far we have progressed! Was 60-70% effaced at 40 weeks but, not dialated. No contractions, or braxton hicks throughout pregnancy. Can't wait to see what this little girl is up to this morning!! Hopefully the Doctor has only positive news for us!

    Not progressed at all from last week -- cervix is still 60-70% thinned out with no dialation. Not possible to even consider a membrane sweep right now and thankfully, Drs are on the same page as we are, no matter how hard the wait, they don't want to talk about induction because my body and baby are simply not ready. It would most likely end in a c-section if we did induce. Dr appt again on Monday to check on baby if she doesn't come before then, but there would have to be some big changes for her to come before then. She's going to be a 42 week-er!

    Your doctors are awesome for not pushing induction right now, you should be so thankful! Lots of healthy babies are born past 41 weeks, every mama and baby has a different gestation period. 

    Cervical checks mean diddly squat. I have not had a single one my whole pregnancy for this reason, I don't even really understand why they are done. My mom was completely closed and told to expect a late baby the day before I was born in a 45 minute labor. I've known women who were told they are 4 cm at 38 weeks but still go way past the due date. So don't even bother letting that into you mind, she will come when she is ready and your body can progress very quickly!

    I get the impatience though. Tomorrow is my "due date" and my midwives already guessed our daughter will be a 9 pounder, she seems to be very long. No one that I know of in my family has had a post-date baby but I don't have any real signs of labor yet. I'm having acupuncture tomorrow morning and crossing my fingers. In hind sight I wish we had lied and told everyone my due date was later because now we are getting daily phone calls and everyone besides us seems nervous that I'm still pregnant. Like you, I'll be getting NSTs after 41 weeks if she is still in there! Fingers crossed that we both have babies this weekend!
