Posterior baby at 39+ weeks.

Hello so at my 39 weeks appointment my doctor told me that my baby was OP posterior. So ever since then I have been all over the Internet trying different stretches and exercises to help turn her. Is there anything you suggest to do? Have any of you experienced this. I'm a first time mom, so of course I'm worrying. Though my doctor told me that almost all posterior babies turn during labour.

Also I've been sick with a cold for about 2 weeks now. And my due date is only 3 days away.. Do you have any suggestions for home remedies to help get rid of this cold. And have any of you experienced a cold right before your due date ?

  • I don't have any advice for the first part, but there is a thread about colds on page two that may be of help. Hope you feel better.

  • Thank you !
  • My Lil lady was posterior up until 8 centimeters and ended up flipping. I did nothing to prepare it's just like my body knew. Good luck to you!
  • Mine just flipped. I did tons of forward leaning and sat with my legs apart as much as possible. When sleeping, I had my top leg up on 2 pillows, so I could lean over and make lots of space. My midwife said if baby hadn't flipped, they often do in labor. If baby doesn't flip, try to think of it as a variation of labor, rather than a complication. Good luck!
  • My baby was posterior and we didn't find out till 8 hours into the labor (she turned after her last position check) and refused to turn during labor. We still had a vaginal birth. It was just a longer, slower, more painful labor than I'd expected. I'm only sharing because I wished we'd known ahead of time what to expect since it would have made me feel better and more capable of coping. Good luck with a turn.
