No morning sickness...should I be worried?

Hi all!
I am about 7 weeks and the only symptoms I am having are extreme crazy lady swings of emotions, I'm super tired like all of the time, light headed when I stand up and very mild cramping on mostly my right side (sometimes in the left). Any thoughts? I'm doing my best not to freak out. But it's crazy hard. Oh! Also I'm 25 and this is my first pregnacy ☺️.

Re: No morning sickness...should I be worried?

  • If you're worried about cramping I would ask your Dr. I have cramping on and off, but your uterus is growing, so that can be normal, as long as there isn't bleeding I would expect this. But again, I'm not a Dr, so I would ask if you are really concerned. As for the morning sickness, celebrate the fact that you don't have it! I didn't have it at all with my son, I felt great the whole time. This pregnancy I am nauseous alllll the time. So symptoms just vary person to person, and although 3 out of 4 women will experience MS, you may be that lucky one that doesn't! Celebrate this time, it's such a special time in your life, and make sure to tell your Dr all of these concerns! They can be so helpful when it comes to alleviating FTM fears! No question is a dumb question in the Dr's office. Hope that helps and congrats! :)

  • No morning sickness here either - guess we're in that lucky 25% club!
  • I've also got no moring sickness, but mild cramping in the right side, but mostly of my friends who had kids said is growing pains of the young one growing in side you! 7 weeks along and still don't have much simptoms other then back pain and sensetief breast and mild cramping
  • A lot of us will say you're "lucky" because it sucks. But this is my first pregnancy too and I know it's terrifying to not have symptoms or have symptoms come and go. I'm almost ten weeks and the ms didn't hit really bad til eight weeks. So it's possible it just hasn't hit you yet.
  • It sounds like you have symptoms, and yeah I'd be counting myself extremely lucky to not have morning sickness. It is nasty. Try not to worry about it.
  • My "morning sickness" manifests itself as extreme gas, but it feels like I'm going to throw up. When it's really bad, eating a lot cures it. But it has come and gone. I had it really bad for a few days last week, and now I feel back to my normal self (except for all of my other symptoms like tiredness!).
  • Hi there! I have pretty much the same symptoms as you and no morning sickness. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and had an ultrasound just a few days ago and baby is doing great with an excellent heart rate and measuring right on schedule, so don't worry! My mom didn't have morning sickness when she was pregnant with me or my brother, and a few of my coworkers never have morning sickness with their pregnancies either and now have grown children. Morning sickness or the lack thereof isn't an indication of the health of your baby; everyone's bodies react differently to the hormones and some experience a reaction and others don't. Enjoy the fact that you're one of the lucky ones who can actually eat! As for me, I'm hungry all the time! I'm also insanely fatigued, have food aversions/cravings, and have a sharp twinging pain every now and then mostly on my right side; it's from your uterus growing and is called round ligament pain. Mine doesn't feel anything like menstrual cramps, but instead a shooting pain that lasts for a few seconds and then goes away, and it's not even that painful, I'm more just aware of it. Hope that helps!

I'm so happy you posted this!!! We are like twinkles LOL I'm 25, this is my sort of first pregnancy (had a D&C in October), I'm 6 weeks and 5 days, and I have the exact same symptoms you have. No nausea has really freaked me out! I feel like I should feel more than that and strangely enough I want to feel sick just for comfort. Haha! I honestly believe that we're either some of the lucky ones or I've also read that it can hit you unexpectedly at 8-10 weeks. So we shall see! Thank you for posting this.

I'm 6 weeks today.  I had almost no morning sickness during my 1st pregnancy and it's been the same for this one too--so far.  Not everyone has every symptom.  I feel pretty lucky to have dodged this one so far.
  • Hi all!

With my first pregnancy, I didn't even realize I was pregnant until I was around 8-9 weeks. (I never had regular periods and they were always light). Well the day I took a pregnancy test because my husband wanted me to was the day I started throwing up for days. Maybe it just hasn't struck you yet. With this pregnancy, I've been majorly nauseous since week 6. There are no set rules.

  • I felt great until week 8. Felt miserable all during week 8. Week 9 hit, and I feel great again! My friend who is due any day now also said weeks 7-8 were her roughest. Everyone is different. If 1 week of nausea is my body's version of MS, I'll take it!
  • Thanks everyone!!!!! Your posts made me feel better.
