Blue eyes

Hi guys !! I'm 28 weeks and 6days , just wondering I heard a rumor that if you wear contacts you will be blessed with a baby that has blue eyes ?? I wear contacts and am quite excited to see if this is true !! I really want blue eyes in my family , they are so dreamy, and it would mean my boy would never be without a date !!! Anyone else heard this rumor ? Or know if it will work and how ?? Cheers thanks guys :)

  • It's genetics, not what you wear/do/say that determine how your child will look. Both you and baby's dad would need to have blue eye genes as its a recessive gene. And if neither of you have blue eyes but both carry the gene it's only a 25% chance that baby will have blue eyes.

Is this also true if you dye your hair??
  • Not for the eyes but it will totally change your kid's hair color.
  • Lol this one made me giggle. Have a good day all
  • You have to make sure you wear the contacts ALL the time. I only wore them most of the time with DD1 and a few weeks after she was born they turned hazel. So make sure to get the contacts you can sleep in.
  • I burnt myself last week with boiling water while making pasta. I have a really bad mark on my bump, does that mean baby Jacob is going to be born with a huge burn mark on his little body?

Nah it will just be a red birth mark or a patch of red hair!!
  • I'm curious where do you hear these things?
  • Omfg. I have no words right now.......
  • Aww a patch of red hair will be cute

Like a little troll doll! So cute!
  • I do my best not to be mean but seriously this is the dumbest thing I have read on here so far. Either the op is a teen mom or dropped out of school at an early age. Is she really serious about this question. It's like me saying that if I want A mixed baby that is half black all I have to do is wear really really dark foundation and my baby will be half black even though I'm Hispanic and my husband is white.
Fyi- plenty of babies are born with blue eyes but they don't stay that color if you don't have the gene.
  • @Tygandre‌ I see. It's just so hard to tell who's joking and who is serious these days

I'm glad you took a stab at teen moms while making yourself look like an idiot. How contradicting that the teen mom understood sarcasm while you couldn't...

Just to be clear I don't have anything against teen moms and wasn't trying to take a stab at them. My reference to teen moms had more to do with the possibility that someone hadn't taken a class that informed them how genetics work. Like I said earlier it's hard to tell who is joking and who is being serious these days with all the dumb questions that get asked.
  • This made me laugh.
  • After making it through this blizzard my baby is going to be born with white stripes like Ana.
  • Cheers ... For a 34 year old teen mom I'm feeling kinda old .... Lmao ... *chuckles in the corner* no one ever gets my Australian humor >:D< *-:)
  • Totally made my point though...

  • Ive heard if you stand on your head and hold your breath baby is sure to have blue eyes. You gotta do it a long time though or they wont stay that way
  • Omg. I needed this post today. Thanks for the laughs!
