Oh man, that really sucks, I'm sorry! I had (what I hope)was a false alarm yesterday when I saw DD pulling and rubbing at her ears. She is currently teething and has a little cold so I'm hoping that is why. Keeping an eye on her and hoping for the best.

Thanks @poru. The thought of plugs in the tub hadn't honestly occurred to me yet. That makes me sad, plus swimming! He had stopped making sounds last week til today, and suddenly this afternoon he's back to de de de and mom mom mom. We're a waxy family, so cerumen is usually a problem for us.
I'm making our appt with the ENT and asking my SLP friends who they recommend. Hopefully I can get a good outcome. LO currently only has one ear infected, so that's nice for once.
Thanks TLP. I"m more concerned about the potential for scar tissue and actual hearing loss that can occur with lasting otitis media Glad your little one had a burst of language though!
I'm concerned too. DD keeps getting ear infections when she gets a cold which has been on and off since October and she's been sick pretty much since Christmas. I'm just waiting for the pediatrician to start talking ENTs.
My friend battled ear infections frequently growing up and ended up with a damaged ear drum and partial hearing loss. So I can understand your nervousness.
