God lord it takes my 8 week old an hour and a half to go to sleep at night...hes fed, clean diaper, falls alseep in our arms put him in the crib, and BAM back up crying....ugh baby boy please sleep my love... End rant
Do you breastfeed? I sometimes have the same problem with my LO. We bathe, then breastfeed, then go to bed. Sometimes I have to put him down two or three times because he falls asleep eating and I have to keep feeding till he's satisfied. If he is full and fussy still, he's usually overtired or overstimulated so it just takes us longer. I've not found any trick aside from holding and soothing the best I can to get him down
Do you swaddle your baby? It has made a huge difference with my baby. I use the swaddle sacks. They hold him very snug so I think he still feels "held" when I put him down. If you haven't already, in addition to a swaddle you may want to try a swing.
He hates being swaddled, he needs his arma free so we kinda swaddle from his belly down. Its almost like he fights his sleep. Its took from 8pm till about 10 for him to go to sleep. He would for like 5 min wake up, and fall asleep for another 5 min wake up. But once he fell asleep he slept til 3, change diaper, bottle, burp and right back out again.

My LO fights being swaddled at first, but then I give her the pacifier and she's usually out for the count (or at least pacified...heh) pretty quickly. I think that many babies fight the swaddle, but it's often in their (and your!) best interest if you can wait out a few minutes of fighting the swaddle. I have to swaddle her to first put her down, but then when I feed/change her at around 2 or 3, I'm able to put her right back down without reswaddling her arms. I use the halo sleep sack and I love it.
My baby didn't care for it at first either. I change his diaper, swaddle, then feed him. He doesn't mind it as much if he gets to eat right after & then eating makes him sleepy. Also, try to make sure baby's sheet isn't really cold, otherwise when their head touches it they may wake up. Don't give up, you'll find something will work.
I have same problem. I have basically ended up co-sleeping, which was never part of my plan. But I haven't found any other way to get any rest. I know I'm only making things harder in the long run. We had a sembelance of a schedule forming and then LO got RSV and it all went out the window. He is not yet 100% recovered. I'm hoping as he gets healthier he will tolerate being put down. We really need to start making progress as I return to work in 2 weeks!
I was told to put a heating pad on low in the crib while I feed him and take it out right before you put him in the crib. It seems to help with keeping him asleep when he doesn't get put on something drastically colder than body temp.
