35w3d 4cm dilated 70% effaced, when will she come?!

The anticipation of having a baby sooner than later is driving me nuts! This is my 2nd pregnancy and my 1st came early @ 38weeks. Dr seemed to think this baby would come soon bc she said don't wait once contractions start & let's hope you make it to 36/37 weeks! Been getting mild contractions for weeks now but it leads nowhere. Anyone been in the same situation and stay dilated for weeks or did labor soon come?!

  • I have a friend who is pregnant and has been a few cm deliated the past couple weeks :/

  • I think it took 4 weeks after I was at 4 cm for baby to get here. You can progress so slowly or rapidly just depends on what babu has their heart set to.
  • With my last pregnancy I was 1 centimeter dilated at 35 weeks then I had my daughter a week later @ 36 weeks! But i know some woman who stay the same amouth of dilated for weeks. It just depends on how your body is.
  • You would think being at 4 that it would happen anytime?! Haha I was at 2 for 2 weeks with my son when he came but I knew it could be a while. Being 4 is such a tease

  • It's not that I want her to come early at all, it's just knowing it's coming to an end soon. She will be born healthy and on time I'm sure. Just knowing you are at 4 is a shock and makes it seem that much more real. You would understand if it was you and that's the advice I'm looking for
  • I have been 4cm dilated with bulging membranes and no cervix left now for about 8 weeks, so it's really hard to say! Just have to wait and see what happens :)

  • Your comment was not helpful whatsoever so that was my point. She'll clearly come when she's ready. Good luck with your pregnancy!

  • Depends on your body,my other babies came at 36 weeks.I am planning on this baby coming at 36 weeks again doctor said she most likely will. I hope you last till at least 37 weeks, there are no answers dilation is sometimes not a sign of labor. I hope you have a healthy baby try not to stress that can lead to preterm labor from what I heard .
  • Since your want irrational personal not useful experience instead of the honest answer you were given, I personally walk around between 2 and 5 and 50 to 100% effaced for 6 to 8 weeks. So hope that helps.

  • I was 70% and 3cm for a LONG time before my DD arrived. She arrived 3 days late. My friend had her baby a week early and she hadn't effaced or dialated at all prior. It was a quick labor too. So... In my opinion it means little to nothing. Baby comes when they come!
  • I walked around at 4cm for 2-3 weeks with both my boys. There is no advice anyone can give you other than baby will come when they're ready. Your dilation at his point doesn't mean much, except you'll have a shorter way to go once you begin active labor.
