Since our babies are coming up on one year, I've been thinking a lot about the transition to white cow's milk (WCM).
I'm apprehensive about going cold turkey with LO. Information I got from a nutritionist says he should have a cup of milk with every meal/snack, which is what we're doing now with formula. I'm worried he won't be getting enough nutrition from his solids. Also we are going to have to break the bottle before bed habit.
Tell me what your thoughts/plans/questions are about the transition to WCM!
Re: TTMA white cow's milk
I think a bottle of whole milk can still be given at bedtime..at least that was my plan!
Right now she has about 4 bottles a day plus water with her meals. I think she is transitioning to three bottles soon - morning, after lunch and bedtime.
When he is a year we plan on switching to cow's milk if the doctor agrees. Hoping it should be a smooth transition!
Question: How do you plan to introduce the cow's milk? Slowly replace all formula feeds? I am also nervous about going cold turkey.

My LO eats A LOT of solids though. If he weren't a good eater, I'd probably be a little more hesitant to move on to cow's milk. I guess once you start it becomes more important to provide well rounded meals.
I totally forgot to ask my pediatrician about cows milk. I will have to call and see what she advises... we would love to start cutting out formula (so damn expensive). I am worried about the bedtime bottle too... but as christinanoelle says, there really isn't any reason it cant be a bottle of cows milk before bed... I think?
PS- I really wish LO wasn't so resistant to the sippy cup. Im working on it!
