I did. I had steadily rising BP that would go down at the end of each visit. Finally at 37 weeks it stayed high and I had protein in my urine. I was induced the next day. After delivery, I had to be put on magnesium, because they were afraid I'd seize. After my 1 week pp check up, BP was still high, so I was placed on a low dose BP medication. Are you on bed rest until then?

This is my exact situation as of today. I've been put on medication for high BP and for about a week now I've had a constant headache that just won't go. I'm 32 weeks so I'm getting a little concerned.
I was sent to the hospital three different times and ended up delivering on the third visit at 35 weeks. Each time I was in overnight for monitoring and was then sent home to do 24 hr urine tests. The last time I was sent to the hospital, I was told I would be induced. I was sent on Friday and delivered on Monday. Lying around on your left side for days is the hardest part. Do your best to relax. If you're on best rest, take it seriously. Your doctors/nurses will do lots of monitoring of blood and urine samples, but they want YOU to be safe. My son was in the NICU for a few days because he needed to figure out how to coordinate feeding. Otherwise, he was healthy. If you're induced at 36 weeks, your little one should be in an even better situation (FT is considered 37 wks). They'll put you on magnesium in the hospital after delivery to prevent seizures and you'll be totally out of it for hours. Pre-e isn't something you can really prepare for and much of your birth plan will go out the window, but you'll be fine and in the end - it's all worth it!
I haven't been diagnosed with preeclampsia yet, but I am being monitored for it. My blood pressure keeps shooting up and then goes back down as I'm sitting there or if I change positions(from sitting to laying down). All my 24 urine tests and blood work has been normal, as well. So, they don't know what's going on.
I am 35 weeks and on blood pressure meds and twice weeks nst , blood tests, doc appnts and I take my bp every day. They are also talking about taking baby in a few weeks. No advice just you aren't alone!
With DD I was diagnosed with pre-e at 34 weeks. My doctor sent me to the nearest big city hospital to deliver at 34.5 weeks, but they decided that I could hang on a little longer. They sent me home at 35 weeks - which is when my local hospital could handle me.
My DD was born at 36weeks 3days at 19.5" and 5lbs. 14oz. She was perfect and got to come home with me right away. The only issue she had was jaundice - which is very common especially in breast fed babies.
Just ask questions of your doctor. My induction went very well, but I was only able to get up and walk around for 10 minutes every two hours because my blood pressure would skyrocket. After DD was born and the afterbirth was delivered, my blood pressure crashed and I fainted a few times. But then it reset almost immediately.
My experience with preeclampsia was awful and early onset. You probably don't want to hear my story. My advice: You are at a good spot at 34 weeks. Do everything the doctors tell you to go as long as you can before having to deliver to give baby as much time inside as possible. If they put you on bedrest, do it strictly! My preeclampsia went from slight to extreme in a matter of 24 hours. Sending prayers your way. Take care!

I will be 36 weeks tomorrow and I was just diagnosed with preeclamsia. My Dr. is going to try to wait until 39 weeks to induce.I am incredibly swollen, had high protein levels in my 24 hour urine collection, and my BP is all over the place. After reading this thread, I'm now worried that the Dr. is waiting so long to induce....

Try not to worry too much, pre-eclampsia can vary so much. I've had it twice and each time was so different. First pregnancy needed emergency c-section at 36 weeks, but this pregnancy it's been milder and I'm trying to get to 39 weeks with a lot of monitoring. (I've already made it to 38 weeks) Don't hesitate to ask your doctor for specifics if that helps, that's what they're there for, but don't worry if other people's treatment is different from yours. There are so many variables that help a doctor decide what's best. It's actually a good sign if your doctor thinks you can make it that far! And I'm sure if it gets to a dangerous place your plans will change and they will deliver earlier.
1. To the poster who said FT is 37wks, no. It's not. They redefined the terms over a year ago. And my 35wk preemie was in the NICU for almost a month. Don't give false hope based on your rather lucky experience.
2. Discuss your concerns with your doctor fully OP. Let them know why you're scared, worried, or stressed. They and only they can give you an exact answer because only they know your medical history and what you're numbers are like right now.
Take everything they tell you to heart. No caffeine, at all. And if they put you on bed rest for the sake of your baby don't try to cheat it.
I'm glad I lurked here. My ob is monitoring me and I am currently doing the 24hr urine. I'm 37/4

I know most pre-e stories are pretty scary but I just wanted to share my experience.
At my 32w appt with my last pregnancy my BP was 145/90 and my protein was +3. I did a 24-hour collection and my protein count was at 1500 mg (5 times the maximum). Since I had no other signs of pre-e other than the BP and protein my OB started me on meds for my BP and had me do weekly blood tests and 24-hour urine collections. Other than rising protein count I never had any other issues and my bloodwork looked perfect so he even allowed me to return to work at 38w (at my request, I'm a teacher). We finally induced at my due date when my protein count was almost 3000. I know that everyone's experience is different but I just wanted to let you know that you can have high BP and high protein output without necessarily having other complications.
I didn't see a lot of details in your initial post, are you having bad headaches? blurred vision? extreme swelling?
