Burning nipples?

please tell me I'm not alone?! I know it's normal and all that but goodness, it really hurts!!! Anyone have any advice on relief? I use nipple cream already, that doesn't help the burning. I just really have no ideas and Google hasn't helped :-/

    Ice packs! Mine don't burn, but they are super sore most of the time now. I use tiger balm when I can, and nipple cream, but none of it works ad well as an ice pack wrapped in a paper towel. Plus, with as warm as I've been feeling lately, the cool really helps.

    Well I'm not experiencing this, but I heard that the ice packs provide temporary relief but that if it's your milk coming in then it thickens it- which actually is counter productive. I heard you want to apply heat instead to help it let down the milk. Again just heard from someone else! Best of luck. I know these boobs are not worth all their trouble these days! I've been using nipple cream for over a month to keep the cracking and itching under control! But burning sounds awful :(

    Go with the hot compress on the boob, cold on the nipple and nipple cream...fuck. As I was typing this LO slipped off and sucked right on the tip of my already damaged nipple. Not sure if you have an outside baby but stay away from cabbage leaves - that will dry up your milk.
