QOTW: Are you doing anything to stay fit while pregnant?

A new check in leader is needed.  Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Me 27 DH 29 Married since 2007, together since 2001
Off BC since Febuary 2006 3 Clomid Cycles in 2008- symptomatic, US just showed a tilted uterus, otherwise normal, HSG normal.  DH has an ejaculatory duct obstruction and a congenital absence of the vas deferens.  This is common with cystic fibrosis carriers, but he doesn't have cystic fibrosis. IVF #1 with TESE/ICSI (Antagonist protocol) Aug 2014=BFN (poor embryo quality)   IVF #2 ICSI long lupron protocol November 2014

Re: +++ 1st Trimester Check-in 1/29+++ New check-in leader needed.

  • We have quite a long list of ladies moving to 2nd trimester next week!  Since, I am also moving on we need a new check-in leader.  I will keep the list updated so that all you have to do is copy and paste.  Please let me know if someone is interested.

We had an appointment this morning.  We were able to hear the heart beat for the first time (140s).  We had planned to do the harmony test, but my doctor's office changed companies that run the harmony test.  It went from costing me $200 to costing me $600.  Since, I'm 28 we decided not to do it.  We will be waiting until our 20 week ultrasound to find out gender.  We are just happy the baby had a nice strong heart beat.  :)

  • I will do the check-in if you haven't got any volunteers yet!

    I am 5 1/2 weeks I believe right now.
Beta # 3 was Monday and it was 16,620 at 14dp5dt!
No morning sickness yet (knock on wood), just cramping and crazy bloating! I think people are catching on that I'm pregnant just because I look like I'm 5 months along! A nurse at my work came up to me to let me know not to go into a certain patients room because she had open shingles, then winked like she knew. I wasn't sure whether to be affended, grateful for the tip or to correct her that I'm not really as pregnant as I look! Lol I just smiled and said thanks.
I will have my first U/S on 2/9! So we will find out how many little beans are growing in there and hear the heartbeat(s). :)

QOTW: I'm so restricted on what I'm allowed to do right now to stay in shape. I'm allowed to do the elliptical machine if I don't do the arm movements and I keep my HR under 110. Oh boy!
  • Loading the player...
  • I am 10 weeks today. I have my last RE appointment on Monday. We will have an u/s and then I am supposed to graduate from the RE, and I will see my Ob the following Monday. I am excited to see the baby again :)

QOTW: I normally stay fit by walking outside, but it has been so cold here and I have been so tired and nauseous! I have probably walked on the treadmill once a week for the last few weeks, but I am hoping to do much better once the weather improves and I can get outside. I feel like am getting a noticeable bump already which is crazy, because with DS I didn't show until around 18 weeks. I am blaming it on being baby number 2, because I have only gained about 3 lbs.

    TTC #1 January 2009
January 2010 SA results: Count 16 million, Motility 40%, Morphology 2%
January 2010- Surprise BFP! DS born 10/1/2010 :)
    January 2013 TTC #2
    September 2013 Repeat SA: Count= 1.7 million, Motility= 24%, Morphology= 2%
November 6th 1st Appointment with RE: diagnosed with severe MFI
Testing to try to determine a cause & possible treatment for MFI
CD 3 blood work for me. RE does not want to repeat my HSG/lap at this point,
but may want to before moving forward with any fertility treatments.
After seeing the uro, DH is currently taking lots of supplements and clomid to try to boost his count. We will have a repeat SA in February to see if it works.
    Follow up SA numbers are: Count= 4 million, Motility= 40%, Morphology= 1%
Uro wants us to have another follow up SA 5/9 to see if we see further improvement than we are back to the RE to make a game plan.

SA 5/9/2014 Count: 12 Million, Motility: 60%, and Morphology 2%. We will be doing iui #1 in late June

IUI #1 6/28 clomid + ovidrel, post wash count 3 million total sperm= BFN

    IUI # 2 7/21 clomid+ ovidrel. post wash count 900,000 total sperm= BFN

IVF planned for early November- cancelled due to cyst

    December IVF #1- 22 eggs, 20 mature,16 fertilized

    12/9 Transferred 1 4AA Blast, 6 frosties

    *****Everyone is welcome******

  • I'm exactly 12 weeks today! I had a little scare and had some spotting on Monday (at 11 weeks 4 days) so they got me in for a sono that morning. Baby's heart was beating away at 164. The tech said she wanted to do the nt scan since I was there. I hate to admit it but I was bummed because I wanted my nt scan after 12 weeks but the tech was so persistent. Baby wouldn't cooperate the first 20 minutes and the tech was getting frustrated and was pushing so hard on my belly that it was becoming super uncomfortable. I kept saying I could wait until my actual nt scan date and she said no. Eventually she was able to measure the nt and she snapped two pictures. The pictures look horrible and I'm bummed because I wanted to use them to surprise our parents but you can barely see anything it's so fuzzy. However, the measurement was normal which I'm telling myself is the most important thing (and not some bad sono experience with bad pictures). I also did my blood work that day and still am waiting for my results. FX all continues to go well.

QOTW: I'm an Early Intervention Speech-Language Pathologist so I get tons or exercise during the day working with little ones. I come home and crash. So no actual work outs for me. Too exhausted lol.

@J&D2007 a friend lent me her Doppler and I was trying and trying to get a heart beat to come up. When I went today the ultrasound tech said that my uterus is so tilted that I'm not going to hear anything until for another few weeks. Just keep that in mind when you try!

  • Hi ladies!

10w1d here-- this week has been blissfully uneventful. I finished estrace and endometrin yesterday, so I'm hoping the occasional queasiness goes away. No puking so I should really be thankful. And no more bleeding-- YAY! (Knock on wood). We got to see the peanuts today on ultrasound and they looked beautiful-- wiggling all over and hearts beating like crazy!

I've noticed the boobs and pooch have popped this week- I freaked out but my NP said I should be measuring 4 wks ahead with twins, so I'm trying to embrace the belly. Only issue is that we're not ready to announce yet, so I've got to keep it on the DL for another few wks.

QOTW- no workouts for me until 2/6- I'm on restrictions for 2 wks from when the bleeding stopped. I asked about light weights or ab work today, and was told "nope"! 1 more week...

  • 12w5d today. Had my NT last week and everything looked good. both babies were measuring on time. I also had the integrated bloodwork done, but won't get the results until I see the MFM on 2/20. I have OB appt. coming up next Thursday and I get to see the babies again.

QOTD: The most exercise I get from is running after my 4 almost 5 year old. I am taking it light but try to walk after every meals for at least 10 minutes, around the house.
  • @Justone13‌ I too have a tilted uterus. At one of my last appts the NP tried with the Doppler and didn't hear anything. It was instant panic mode and I thankfully got a sono immediately. All was well with baby.

@j&d2007 could you hold off until your doctor finds it and hears it? That way you'll know where to look and once they find it you should be able to too.

  • Hi All! I am 13w3d and feeling so much better. I still get sick riding the bus to and from work daily. I have been taking a lot of ubers at 2.5x cost (thanks storm) because I just can't handle the bus. We did our MaterniT test on Monday and are just waiting for the results (and sex!) We should find that all out next week. Our ultrasound/NT test looked good, so I'm not feeling too anxious most of the time.

Big news is I told my boss and she was very supportive. I also talked to HR and found out work will pay me in full for all 3 months of leave!! I thought half of my time was only 60%, but my company pays the 40% that disability does cover. Super exciting.

I look way pregnant. I had a small stomach/waist before all of this and now I don't at all. I know some people are catching on or wondering why I don't cool it on the cookies.

QOTD: I'm doing barre classes twice a week and yoga on the weekend with my husband. It's been a lot harder while pregnant, especially yoga. I get dizzy so much going up and down. I do a lot of extra childs poses.

  • Hi everyone,

I'm sad to be leaving this thread!! I can't believe we are at the second trimester.

I walk to work everyday (at least when it isn't snowing like crazy) and do taekwondo with no jumping or contact.

Hi girls! I am floored to see my name on the "last week" list. Our NT scan went well for the most part this past Thursday. Doc said that the ultrasound looked good, and now we just have to wait for blood results to confirm that. The ultrasound did show Wharton jelly cysts on the baby's umbilical cord... This apparently only occurs in 3% of pregnancies, but it's fine as long as they go away by the second trimester. We will take a closer look at our 16 week growth scan. If they don't go away, it could pose some serious risks to the baby. I'm trying not to panic. QOTW: I got clearance from my OB to start running again!!! I can't begin to describe how much joy this brings!! I also have been doing some prenatal workout DVDs and walking. I went to my first prenatal yoga class this morning and it was amazing. The instructor is simply fabulous (I've taken her other classes before including a fertility yoga class). The meditation in the end had me in tears... Just laying there thinking about how much of a miracle this whole pregnancy is to me... I still haven't accepted it to be true, and I am so grateful it brings me to tears. I can't believe this is real life.

I'm so happy to hear you are at 13 weeks! I'm pacing off you, so keep up the good work!! I'm sorry about the extra worry about the cysts though. I've honestly never heard of that term before, but I hope everything goes perfectly at your next scan. And, yay, to running again!
