Finally Joining and Terrified (Loss mentioned)

Hi everyone. I'm finally making the leap and joining this birth club. I have been extremely hesitant due to what happened last time. I had a D&C in October due to a missed miscarriage. My DH and I had been trying for 1.5 years and finally became pregnant the month we were supposed to start fertility treatment. We were devastated by the loss and decided to be done with it all. Well, to our pleasant and very unexpected surprise, we found out we were expecting another due September 25th. I am so overjoyed, but also very afraid.

I do have a question for all of you. I'm having no symptoms at all other than waking up at 3 every morning because my stomach is growling. I'm so worried that this is a bad sign. I'm 6 weeks and 3 days along and I feel like I should have something! No sore BBs, no nausea, nothing! Anyone else experiencing this? I would love any and all thoughts and encouragement.

  • I'm 8 weeks today and haven't had any major symptoms either. No nausea, no sore BBs. I keep taking HPTs and they're all positive, but my first appointment isn't until next Tuesday. I can't wait for that confirmation that I am indeed pregnant! I do pee a lot, and I've been experiencing bloating, but I keep thinking I should be feeling more as well. I've been reading online, and it seems like some women just don't get some symptoms of pregnancy. My mom said she wasn't sick with either me or my brother, so I take comfort in that. I'm sorry for your previous loss, and I hope this one sticks! Will you be seeing your OB soon? I hope they can provide some reassurance for you!

  • First congratulations and welcome!! My last pregnancy I didn't have many symptoms at all except for achy boobs and occasional nauseousness at night! This time I had no symptoms what so every until around 8 weeks and now I feel exhausted and nauseous constantly and my boobs kill!! Try not to worry and be assured some woman don't experience any of the first trimester symptoms at all and still have healthy, happy babies!!

The day I got my BFP I had an HCG blood test and progesterone test done and both levels were high enough that I don't need further testing. Phew! My next appointment will be my 10 week one on the 23rd. It feels like an eternity away!

  • I am in the same boat as you! scared out of my mind.sending hope and best wishes you way
  • Hi @williegsocks‌ I remember you from the June BMB. I was there under a different name (one that was too close to my real name, so I changed it) welcome back!! I'm in the same boat, but I am a few weeks ahead of you and I have been feeling the same way. It's totally normal! I am surprised that your doctor won't do an ultrasound earlier since you have a previous loss. Did you ask them? Last time, told them about my previous loss and they got me in earlier even though I was at a new practice. Thank goodness because I didn't have to wait until 10 weeks AGAIN to find out I had a blighted ovum.

Either way, I was/am in the same boat, I have very few symptoms. The last two times, it was a bad sign, but this time, there is definitely something in there (I have had multiple scans this time because I was seeing an RE). So not much help since every person and every pregnancy is different, but fingers crossed for you!!

  • Fingers crossed for you. My symptoms didn't kick in until week 7. I had a D&C back in September and was a nervous wreck until my first appt, where I got to see my little jellybean and hear a very strong heartbeat. Just remember today you are pregnant and you are pregnant until someone tells you otherwise. I tell myself this everyday.
