Does anyone have any ideas on how to make extra cash before baby is born?

currently working part time as a receptionist and I need to make some extra cash before baby is born, there's not a lot of over time and no one is going to employ a pregnant lady for only 3 months. Do any of you do home based work on the side?

There has been an ad running on my local Craig's list for picture/video sessions with pregnant woman over 20 weeks. My step son thought it was legit.

WTF BUMP this is about half of what I wrote?!?!?!
  • My friend is a Sahm and started selling Younique mascara- which is flipping amazing on fb. In less than a year she has paid cash for her sons braces, sent the family on a vacation to Mexico and paid cash for her new concrete patio to name a few things... She strict does online fb parties.
  • My other SAHM friend started selling Norwex a couple of years ago and is now one of the top people in the entire company making over 6 figures. Direct sales isn't for me but you canals as much or as little as you want depending on what you put into it and want out of it.
  • I like jam berry nails. I know a couple friends who are consultants now. They make decent money and host online parties on facebook. I personally would never do it but it seems like a good way to make some money
  • Selling stuff you don't want/need on EBay
This.  You can make real money this way and declutter your house before baby at the same time.

  • Definitely think about babysitting.  I was a part time kindergarten teacher at a Catholic school (the big bucks, haha) so I also started babysitting part-time while pregnant.  It's decent money, flexible and provided you like kids it can be a lot of fun!
  • I cannot deal with you lmao!!!! You're too funny

There are lots of questionable jobs on Craigslist!! One guy was paying 500 for pictures of women's feet... very weird!!
  • After I had my daughter (in 2012) I quit my part time teaching job. I did some random jobs for a year to get by, and then joined the Lemon Droppers... A team of Essential Oil users (for Young Living). I started just using oils but realized there was income potential- and our team has a very "un-sales" philosophy. MLM companies turn me off (I've tried plenty!) but this team is so different... So team oriented, helpful, encouraging and not pushy at all. I've been working from home for nearly 2 years (in April) and I've become the sole income for our house and my husband recently quit his job of 15 years to work from home with me. I don't often share this "business" out and open like this, but it has changed my life so much. I have written about it on my personal blog www.oh-my-words.com if you want to learn a little more.
  • I know I shouldn't judge what other people do to make ends meet, but I always find it really uncomfortable when someone I know gets involved in those direct sales rackets. I feel like they are always pressuring me to buy junk that I just don't need or want. It's easy for me to blow off advertisements for a product I don't need when its comes from a mass email or something, but much harder when it comes from a friend. I feel like I'm always hearing "hey, do you want to order some pampered chef stuff from me, I'm trying to get the money together for my kid's hockey fees," and suddenly I'm out $40, and have a "gourmet" cheese grater that I'm never going to use.
I got really good at saying, NO! to these kinds of things. However, I have to say, I like going to these parties (the cookware and candle ones) because the quality of the products is *sometimes* better and they usually give free gifts, lol.

Great that it works for you.... but, are you advertising to us?! I'm sure we all have one or more friend that sells every single product from every single MLM company out there already  :-S

OMG this. About a year ago everyone and their sister were selling Arbonne, claiming they'd all be driving white Mercedes within the year (apparently once you reach a certain level in the company they throw you a big party and give you a white Mercedes). Fast forward to today... Every. Single. One of them has given up on the "dream", they are all back to work at their regualr jobs and I've heard not a peep about this miracle company and all of it's amazing products that will change the world, one body lotion at a time.
