Baby Names

lots of girls names I love but pairing them up is a problem!

Below is my list for girls names, my DH and I cannot agree at all! He likes 70's style very plain names and I prefer something southern, classic and elegant. I also want to try not to choose a popular name...I have a name like that and it's tough being 1 of 4 in the classroom! Can you ladies help me put together some lovely names out of this list? Many thanks!

Ella

Cora
Brynn
Elise
Olivia
Ashby
Grace
Avery
Finley
Emery

Well Ella Olivia Audrey and Isabelle are all very popular

Emory Emerson emery Finley Brynn and Avery are male names so cross them off

    Ashby is just ridiculous

Isla is becoming more popular for sure

Annalise many people say sounds and looks like anal ease

    I would say Alexandra Beth
    Grace Catherine
    Vivian Kate are best

  • If you're having trouble pairing names, and you personally like southern, one syllable middle names tend to flow best with longer first names, in my opinion.

    Finley Kate
    Isla Grace
    Emerson Grace
    Vivianne Kate
    Cora Grace
    Emmeline Kate
    Avery Grace
    Etc...

Just flow wise without the southern charm, I like short first names with long middles.

    Brynn Alexandra

All "Elle/Ella" names are getting crazy popular, so if that's a concern for you, I'd stay away from Ella, Isabelle, Annabelle, etc. So is Olivia.

    I like your names :-)

  • @dukegirlsc‌ MH is just meh on every name. Won't do a family name and doesn't like anything too unusual. So far I have 3 that he hasn't shot down for girls and I don't know how I feel about them (for boy's names, we have too many choices!). The names he likes:
    Nora/Norah
    Mariah
    Meredith

He's shot down some really good ones. Here's some of my favs that I can think of off the top of my head.
    Elianna
    Rosalie
    Evelyn
    Amelia
    Olivia
Plus a huge list of already taken names by cousins with the same LN. If we have twin girls I don't know what we are going to do!

Bhahahahaaaaaa just spat out my drink
  • @CML11 I feel your pain with the shooting down of names, it gets to be exhausting trying to please them! I really like Nora and Elianna is just lovely! You could try the water drop technique I am employing, just keep dropping the name you like best into the conversation till it wears him down, ha! and of course if you start talking to the belly and calling the baby by name..he won't be able to imagine anything else. It's manipulative, I know, but I think our daughters will thank us!

  • @dukegirlsc‌ maybe that's what MH is doing, he refers to the baby as Thor. It makes me giggle, but it's never going to be a name contender of course!
  • @CML11 maybe he wants an Avengers son! :-O my DH doesn't even refer to the baby yet…I think that will change after the u/s next week, I am on pins and needles!
