Re: *** Friday ticker change 1/30 - Posting Thursday night :) ***

  • How far along are you? Week/Fruit. 18 weeks/sweet potato

How are you feeling physically and emotionally? pretty good! I seem to have a handle on the reflux! I only get nauseas if I get hungry, which seems to appear mostly after 5:00P. It's like my body gives me all day to stay on top of the hunger and if I don't do as well as my body would like I can get pretty miserable until a good half hour after eating dinner. I'm still doing smaller meals throughout the day, but by dinner I'm needing a larger meal or I get pretty hungry middle of the night! Definitely feeling what I've heard called "lightning crotch"!!

Other updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparation, etc.? I'm sad this check-in is so quiet, but I do completely understand why!!

Upcoming milestones or appointments? Nothing until Feb 19th when we will have our 20 week ultrasound and our next OB check-up!

Do you need T&P's for anything? No thanks!

QOTW: Let's do a fun one: If you could have any job at all, putting aside all realistic expectations, what would it be? How does it compare to what you are now? I'm a newborn specialist/professional nanny who assists new Parents (often times with multiples) during the overnight hours for the first month to four months after bringing baby(s) home. I often times wish instead of getting a early childhood degree with random medical classes in college I would have taken medical school seriously and gone to school to become a OB or pediatrician.

  • How far along are you? Week/Fruit. 16 weeks/avocado

How are you feeling physically and emotionally? I'm good.  Still having some numbness in my leg but I have isolated that mostly to when I stand too long.

Other updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparation, etc.? We are finishing up our basement remodel and the next stage is the upstairs.  We are refinishing our floors and expanding the master closet.  After that's done, I will finally be able to start on the nursery!

Upcoming milestones or appointments? I have my 16 week appt on Tuesday!

Do you need T&P's for anything? I think I'm good this week!  Fingers crossed for a good appointment next week!

QOTW: Let's do a fun one: If you could have any job at all, putting aside all realistic expectations, what would it be? How does it compare to what you are now? I think I would like to be a travel reviewer or maybe live on an island and own a beach bar.  I am an accountant now so those are completely different!  I think I would really like something with less stress.

Ladies! Our own @taberbtb is in labor! If you're own the GBCB boards, you might want to check in on her. :)

@DenaMaree - Sorry you're in the lightning crotch camp. It seems like some do, some don't get it. It's not a lot of fun, and only seems to get worse as the weeks pass! What an amazing job to have to prepare for your new role as Mom! We'll try not to ask you too many questions. :) Glad the heartburn/nausea is better!

@snlinega - Good luck on Tuesday! Just a check-up? Your A/S must be soon. Glad the numbness is a little better. You and I have similar career goals, too. :)

    AFM, XP to GBCB:
How far along are you? Week/Fruit. 29 weeks, butternut squash according to one app.

How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Good emotionally, but TIRED. I feel just like I did in the first tri--like I can't get anything done because of the complete lack of energy, and I'm totally foggy all the time. Heartburn is better with meds, but still not gone. The nurse warned me that I'll likely need to up my dose by the time this is all done. Little Girl remains very active, and all seems well. :)

Other updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparation, etc.? DH is almost done installing a new bathtub in the master bath. So proud of him! The house remains a construction zone: bathroom needs drywall, a new vanity, new sink, and paint; master bedroom needs to be painted, too, and we're reorganizing the furniture in there to make room for Baby; and the nursery (also off the master BR) needs to have trim installed and painted, shelving units built, and a few other little things. DH is doing 98% of this by himself (an experienced neighbor gives advice when he's stuck), and I'm not allowed to help bc of all the fumes. I'm almost done with the nursery curtains, so I guess I'm not a completely useless person!

Upcoming milestones or appointments? I just passed all my 3rd tri tests, so I don't think anything exciting happens until I go to weekly appts at 36 weeks. I don't even think I'm getting any other tests done, unless something looks wrong. Unless something bad happens, this is another very boring pregnancy stretch!

Do you need T&P's for anything? Can I ask for t&p that the Patriots lose? I hate them so much!  =))

QOTW: Let's do a fun one: If you could have any job at all, putting aside all realistic expectations, what would it be? How does it compare to what you are now? I do love my current job (university professor), but in some parallel universe I'm an international vegetarian food critic. I want to be paid to fly around the world and critique people's vegetarian offerings, especially in high end restaurants. If you know anyone hiring for this position, let me know, m'kay?

  • How far along are you? Week/Fruit. 25 weeks/cauliflower

How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Good. Tired. Had a lot of Braxton Hicks yesterday I think - so that was pretty uncomfortable....

Other updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparation, etc.? None really. Glucose test in two weeks but that's about it.

Upcoming milestones or appointments? Not for two weeks.

Do you need T&P's for anything? Nope.

QOTW: Let's do a fun one: If you could have any job at all, putting aside all realistic expectations, what would it be? How does it compare to what you are now? I would cover soccer as a reporter in the Olympics and World Cup. I have my journalism degree, wrote for three years for different papers but took a break to follow hubby around (yay Marine Corps)
