Melasma

I melasma (dark spots ) above my upper lip and it will start to look like I have a mustache over time with out my prescription skin bleach (hydroquinone) but it's not really safe during pregnancy from my reading . Can anyone recommend a skin lightener that is safe during pregnancy? Did anyone use hydroquinone during pregnancy and baby was a okay?? Thanks for the help!!
