Hi ladies,
Today I had an ultrasound. I'm 18 weeks, 4 day pregnant and found out I'm having a girl. I'm so happy, I can't wait to meet my little girl. Also some alarming news, they found cysts on my ovaries but told me i shouldn't worry. I'm having a morw in depth ultra sound next week to see exactly what is going on. I can't help buy worry. Is or has anyone gone through this?
Re: Ovarian Cyst
I had very severe ovarian and fallopian cysts back in 2008 (well before I was pregnant). I had minor surgery to remove them but it did not impact my fertility at all.
In fact almost all women have them, they just go away or pop on their own. Only when the get big do you really feel them.
They are more common during pregnancy since your hormones are stronger than usual. So don't freak out!
Not uncommon for a pregnant woman to have cysts develop or fibroids. With all the hormonal changes your body goes through it can happen fairly frequently.
In most cases, there is no cause for concern. The doctor will likely just monitor it and monitor your symptoms (or lack of) concerning the cysts.
